They don't care about winning as much as they care about making money. Seeing empty seats in one of the largest media markets in the country will definitely put you on the shit list of other owners.

Then bring bad press that draws congressional attention, to the point where congressional committees start taking testimony from team employees, they don't like that scrutiny and the risk it represents to all of their businesses.

If I'm an owner who operates on the up and up and doesn't have skeletons of my own in the closet, I'd want Snyder gone immediately. If I'm an owner with skeletons, I might be more inclined to rally round the family with a pocket full of shells.

The fact you haven't seen Snyder lambasted yet by other owners I think points to just how many have skeletons of their own.

Exactly. They know that people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

I think that's a really good point, and we may be getting closer to a point where even the owners who do have skeletons in their closet switch from "Let's not go after him because I don't want to be next" to "let's get rid of him before all that attention gets me caught too" ...

https://www.washingtonpost.com/sport...oversight-ftc/

"allegedly involved withholding as much as $5 million in refundable deposits from season ticket holders and also hiding money that was supposed to be shared among NFL owners"

Never heard that before.

Reminds me of this guy in my dorm at college. Complete screw up. Barely cracked a book. Friend of mine commented, "What do I care? His behavior can only help my GPA and class rank."

If “integrity” mattered to Goodell and the NFL’s billionaire owners, then the claim that Ross offered bribe money to Flores to intentionally lose games in the 2019 season would have already launched a massive investigation into the validity of those claims. Simply put, the NFL is nothing if it does not have the trust of the viewing — and betting — public.

https://boston.cbslocal.com/2022/02/...s-accusations/

An NFL owner bribed his own coach to lose games.

Its been crickets.

No news stories, no investigations.

Owners will protect their own, even Dan Snyder and Ross and Kraft and the other 28 owners.

If Ross isnt being investigated for effecting outcomes of games, then nothing matters when it comes to owners.

"There is nothing more fundamental to the NFL's success -- and to the reputation of everyone associated with our league -- than upholding the integrity of the game," NFL commissioner Roger Goodell wrote in a letter to Ridley notifying him of his suspension. "This is the responsibility of every player, coach, owner, game official, and anyone else employed in the league. Your actions put the integrity of the game at risk, threatened to damage public confidence in professional football, and potentially undermined the reputations of your fellow players throughout the NFL.

"For decades, gambling on NFL games has been considered among the most significant violations of league policy warranting the most substantial sanction. In your case, I acknowledge and commend you for your promptly reporting for an interview, and for admitting your actions."

Really wish some big name reporters would be making noise about Dolphins owner Ross bribing his coach ... but I guess the Schefters of the world suck at the NFL access teet.

The stuff with Snyder never really bothered me once the games started. But now it is just different. I just wish they'd get rid of him- or he moves the team to another city and we start over.

If the team ever started winning I just don't want him to ever hold any kind of trophy. Ever.

It would pain me to see such a shitbag hoisting the Lombardi. Sell the team Dan.

If we won a super bowl, Danny Boy would still not be respected by anyone. He has the mark of the beast.

Give us that damn Lombardi, we have 364 other days a year to hate that shithead.

I really doubt it. He knew what Dan and this organization was from the time he agreed to come here. And there's zero chance that in all his time in the NFL, he didn't know full well what Dan and this organization was BEFORE his time here.

If he had a shred of integrity he would resign. But he's still cashing Dan's checks and to me that says a lot. No one in the NFL would blame Ron if he decided to quit rather than continue to work for Dan.
