There's no point in doing that at this point. We've got 14 days before he's named head coach. Nothing he'd do in the next 2 weeks would matter.

I'm not dead but this team is dead to me...but now that McCloughan is here they may have new life!

Jay Gruden = Zorny McSpurrier
Kirk Cousins = Next Grossman

I agree. I was leaning towards wanting Zorn back but last night did it for me. At least we'll have someone who knows how to gameplan and attack the other teams weakness. I was hoping Zorn would've got the ax today after that fake fg attempt.

If anyone is holding up this scenario, it is Shanahan. I think he does not want to take over until the end of the season out of respect for Zorn.

I agree. Plus I don't see how stepping into this clusterf**k with 2 games left in the season would benefit Shanny. Especially without being able to bring in his own assistants. Maybe he can teach Dan how to treat his coach and QB while he's here.

As far as picking players, they were saying that will be in large part Mike Shanahan's job. That concerns me a bit. He wasn't a great personnel guy in Denver by any means. Shanahan will also likely be team president. I guess I'm worried about how expansive his role will be. I'm much rather he just coach, but then again if that's all we wanted from him we probably couldn't get him.
This is what has always confused me. One would think the HC and coaching staff would know what type of players they need to fit into their system. I guess it's nice to have scouts to go out and look at these players and physically get an idea of how well they play and how well they might work out, but to have a GM totally picking your players when he's not the one coaching them is crazy to me. Plus with Cerrato when he was here he is more of a WCO GM or where he hailed from. Norv, Marty, Spurrier, and Gibb2 are not WCO style of coach's which I would assume make Cerrato's duty even harder. Maybe why Cerrato did better the last 2 yrs with Zorn....Thomas, Davis, and Ganther.

I'm guessing to ease all your minds Shanahan will present who he would like to both DS and Allen and all three will decide. Kinda like what Gibbs was doing.

I agree. He's better off sitting back watching the games and evaluating the players and deciding who he might want to cut and upgrade their spot. Plus getting his coaching staff together.

Re: Report: Shanahan to DC done deal

Are you guys having the same problem I am....for the last 2 yrs I have been unable to purchase Redskins items cause I did not want to keep lining DS's pocket as long as this team continued to be mediocre, Cerrato was still with the team, and Zorn not fired. Basically it was a personal decision to not put money in DS's pocket until there was change.

Since Cerrato's demotion, and Allen's announcement I have been looking at Skins gear while out X-Mas shopping. I find myself wanting to purchase something due to the excitement and knowledge that there will be change. I pick up the gear look at it hold it in my hand and put it back on the shelf. It's like someone is saying "wait......wait....more change is needed."

I think when the old regime is out and the new regime is in place I'll finally purchase some gear knowing that the changes are better then what we currently have and most likely will improve the team. Kinda a "Thank You DS." New gear for the new regime.

that doesn't help

staff and a lot of roster will have to be evaluated after the playoffs and/or superbowl

I see so you would like to have 2 Chris Cooley jerseys, a Redskins grill, 5 hats, 2 wrist bands, a cheerleading calender, a hoodie, 2 leather caps, and a foam finger shipped to you in late April or early May?
