Re: ALEX SMITH and moving forward.

I bet he will do all he can to play again. Some on here wish he would retire, I know but he doesn't seem like the kind to go out that easy. Also just because he's on the roster doesn't mean we cant draft a QB.

It's not like the guy was lighting it up. I hope he comes back but not as starter. You can already hear w/ passive words that the guys on the team prefer Colt.

Well most of the guys playing are guys that typically practice with Colt and not the first team. Regardless, it is good to see the team rally around Colt.

Yeah part of the Colt support is simply because he’s the guy now so let’s get behind him. I mean Jordan Reed was talking about how he has a cannon arm, come on now.

Re: ALEX SMITH and moving forward.

Both QBs are on the wrong side of 30.
You need to find a young talented QB regardless of what happens to AS.

You can win with a young QB if you put them in the right system with the right players(Mahomes, Goff, Trubisky).

Guys relax. Bruce Allen isn't done fingerblasting us yet. Lets wait and see what bullshit he pulls this offseason.

Is Bruce Allen even doing that much with the team anymore? I mean isn't Doug Williams running the personnel side of things with Jay?

We know that Peterson was Doug, but Alex was Allen’s move 100%

Also, my feeling is that the draft was mostly Doug and Jay. It seems that Allen is just involved in any major move, but most of the day-to-day/routine move is mostly Doug and Jay.

So you would have rather have Keenum? I just don't get how "horrible" this trade was, given the situation the team was in when it happened.

I mean at least we didn't give up $87 million guaranteed to be 5-4-1, nor are we 4-6 right now.

Re: ALEX SMITH and moving forward.

IMO the reason the Smith and McNabb deals aren't comparable is because McNabb came to Washington fat, out of shape, and not really interested in playing/learning the system. Smith was none of those things. He arrived in shape and ready to play. So far the results weren't what were hoped for but IMO it wasn't for lack of effort.

Re: ALEX SMITH and moving forward.

The injury throws a serious wrench in the equation. Nobody can be blamed for that.

Re: ALEX SMITH and moving forward.

Alex Smith was a good pick-up, I said it day 1 and still stick to it. He was the best option out there

QBR is 24th in the league...just a smidge behind Blake Bortles and Dak Prescott

Not a good first year impression (still in front of Eli, star for that)
