Re: Coronavirus (sports edition) thread
Got to get those boosters in arms. League needs to bring in medical folks with shots ready to go
It’s a little scary how we navigated last year decently and now this is happening.

Re: Coronavirus (sports edition) thread
The league is going to have to change it's Covid policy. Otherwise how do you play competitive games? Every winter this is going to be an issue.

Re: Coronavirus (sports edition) thread
As we know, even if you're vaccinated, you can still test positive. For most people who are young and in good shape like NFL players, they'll probably not even experience any symptoms. So let those that are vaccinated and asymptomatic play.

Re: Coronavirus (sports edition) thread
I think the optics would be bad. I don’t know how I feel about just letting them play

Stop testing vaccinated players? I don't know what else they can do other than those two options. |

I'm also not positive about the idea of the league letting asymptomatic guys play, sends the wrong message imo. But this outbreak seems as bad as any that happened last year. They need to go to last year's protocols immediately, I'd go a step further and start looking at bubble options for the playoffs.

Re: Coronavirus (sports edition) thread
A buddy of mine is a Baltimore County police officer. He told me the union signed off on that for police officers. If they are positive and asymptomatic they are on duty. They aren't even make considerations for retirement communities etc. I get that police officers have far more essential jobs than footballers though.

Not only that, you can still spread the virus and you may spread it to someone who gets really sick or worse. What a mess. Largely avoidable mess. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Re: Coronavirus (sports edition) thread
Mike Jones thinks one reason for the spread is that vaxxed players are only tested once every 2 weeks vs every day. If they were tested everyday, youd catch cases a lot quicker and they wouldnt spread like wildfire to whole units.
The seahawks test their vaxxed players every few days. That is an owner and organization that gets it. Competent decision making. Attention to detail with one goal - win games. Apparently the NFLPA wanted every day testing for vaxxed or unvaxxed. Its the new normal, do the best you can under the circumstances. |

This article is from before the season began: https://nflpa.com/posts/daily-covid-...ull-nfl-season "Scenario 1: For up to six days, the virus spreads throughout the facility with no one knowing. When it gets to the following Monday, the team resumes testing and 10+ players and staff test positive. Those 10+ people now are in doubt for the following game. Some may be able to get cleared before, but some won’t; and that team will be missing key players" |
