AFC/NFC Championship Game Thread

Time to kick off a new week.

Who's going to the Super Bowl?

I'm going with the Ravens and the Giants.

Re: AFC/NFC Championship Game Thread

Ravens and Giants are my picks as well. If Flacco has another day like he did this past week, it'll be a rematch of the Patriots and Giants though.

I'm going with a Pats-Giants Super Bowl rematch. I'll root for the Ravens but the Pats are red hot.

That's who I think too, and I'm going to have a really hard time watching it since I hate both teams.

If the raven's make it the Super Bowl I have little doubt that some idiot will show up at my office, which is just outside of Baltimore, the Friday before in full face paint. A middle aged woman already rocked the purple camo pants last week, and the GUY in the cubical next to me wore his ravens Mardi Gras beads. He also complained that the clanking of said beads was annoying him but he refused to take them off. And that is a large part of the reason I can't stand that team.

if he does pull another one out he'll get a nice contract next year, isn't he unrestrcted next year? he has the size and the tools and defnitley has the brains, maybe now is his time. although as much as i hate to say it i don't think any qb is hotter than eli right now, and he is scary once he gets in the post season. i'm pulling for the 49ers but think the giants will win by about 10.

giants 34 niners 24

as for the pats and ravens i have no idea who will win that one, both teams match up well against each other and i'm not sure who will pull it out. i think this game obviously relys heavily on the ravens d and their abilty to shut down brady. for the ravens to win i think they will have to have a defensive touchdown, otherwise brady and bill make it to another one. i think this will be a close one.

ravens 31 pats 27, w an ed reed pick six

Guess you missed the end of the Houston game when Ed Reed looked like he needed a wheel chair to get off the field. they have been very quiet about his injury, I think it is bigger then advertised. Plus Brady is not going to make the mistakes that TJ did.

Houston basically handed that game to B-more. IMO this is the blow out game with the Pats going to the big dance. The close game will be 49ers/ G-man.

i heard him on sirus this week, he sounds fine, he probably won't practice but he'll be out there this weekend, i'll bet on that.

2012 NFL playoffs -- Ed Reed of Baltimore Ravens says Joe Flacco was 'rattled' by Houston Texans - ESPN

Surprised Reed said this.

Quote:
"I think Joe was kind of rattled a little bit by (Houston's) defense," Reed said on SiriusXM NFL Radio on Monday, according to ProFootballTalk. "(The Texans) had a lot of guys in the box on him. And, I mean, they were getting to him. I think a couple times he needed to get rid of the ball. I don't know how much of the play-calling ... but it just didn't look like he had a hold on the offense. ... It was just kind of like (Baltimore's coaches) was telling him to do, throw the ball or get it here, you know, get it to certain guys. And he can't play like that."

Quote:
"You know, one particular play that sticks out to me is when (Pro Bowl running back) Ray Rice came out of the backfield, he got pushed down and Flacco still threw him the ball and you got one on one with (wide receiver) Torrey Smith on the outside," Reed told SiriusXM, according to ProFootballTalk. "But it's hearsay for me. I can say that sitting on the sidelines, you know, or sitting in the stands. You just never know what somebody else is seeing."

I'm going on record. If the Ravens lose this game and Flacco has another bad game, it will end Cam Cameron's tenure in Baltimore. Last year they blamed Jim Zorn and fired him. He's the next guy in line and much of their play calling has been suspect this year.

Re: AFC/NFC Championship Game Thread

Denver's O and Bmore's O are pretty much on the same level. I almost take Tebow over Flacco at this point. The Pats get it done, you know Ed Reed is hurting as well. Bmore's biggest problem is their O-line, they have been pretty awful of late.

Also to compare the 09 Pats (the Team Bmore beat in playoffs) to 11 Pats is waste of time especially on offense. Now they have the two big TE's, A better Welker, and a health Brady (09 just coming back from knee surgery).

Tom knows his time is coming to a end he is not going to let this opportunity to add another ring to his finger slip away. I will be shocked if B-more wins this game. Plus something tells me Dark Hoody can come up with a game plan on D to at least hold B-more to less points then Tom's O.

Re: AFC/NFC Championship Game Thread

Niners in a very tight win over the G-Men.

As much as I like the Ravens brand of football, they've already beaten the Pats once in Foxborough this year. Hard to think Darth Hoodie and Tom Terrific let that happen twice. There is no better game-planner in the NFL.

San Fran vs NE would be a really entertaining Super Bowl.

I think:

The Brothers' Harbaugh Super Bowl -OR-
Eli v. Tommy Boy Rematch '07 Super Bowl

would be more exciting. I am going to go ahead and say it:

BOLD PREDICTION!!!

Giants are going to win the Super Bowl this year. Here is why. They are the only team playing at a high level on both sides of the ball. The Giants pass rush is dominating the opponents O-line. Eli is playing lights out and his receiverS are dangerous. They have Bradshaw back and Jacobs is steamrolling again.

Patriot's defense gives up too many yards.

San Fran's offense is slow starting and not prolific. (With the exception of last week but I don't think they will do that again)

Raven's offense has not been clicking on all cylinders and Flacco needs to step up. (And I'm not sure he is going to)
