Re: Best Safety in the League???
Not a to put a damper on the conversation, but we may never get the opportunity to see ST reach his potential.

Oh ye of little faith.... Look up Taylor's attorney on Google. In a judicial corruption case he had his client aquitted on 30 of 34 counts and the last four counts were a split jury. The Reaper will be roaming FedEx next year.... I guarantee it! |

Re: Best Safety in the League???
Reed and Palamalu are the #1/2 right now. Ed Reed has the potential to be the best saftey ever. That being said, so does Sean Taylor, but he needs some more time to evolve, but I love the man. He is already a game changer.

Re: Best Safety in the League???
Dude, there best RB ever was a 40 year old Emmitt Smith (maybe Larry Centers). The O-line is suspect, the QB position is mediocre and the D is bottom half of the league. Every team in the NFL has talent...
Don't start blabbing about AZ, they barely beat SF in Mexico. You must be a former kicker. Why is it that I badmouth other teams (specifically our biggest rival and a former division foe) and I take heat. If you don't bleed burgundy and gold don't reply to my posts because you don't understand. I am tired of the bandwagon bunch. Give me Dexter running through the line and crushing Danny White....Give me Darryl Green jumping over the guy at Soldier Field...Give me Timmy Smith setting records which still stand.... Give meClark breaking away from Minnesotta in overtime... If you bark in my direction you better know your shit. |

Re: Best Safety in the League???
Adrian Wilson plays for the Cardinals. He is one of the better strong safeties in the league, he's a big hitter like Taylor and a great player against the run. Kinda like Roy Williams except that Wilson is more of a complete package, because he is good at defending the pass unlike Williams. Sean Taylor is not the best safety in the league, I'd say Ed Reed is probably the best, Polamalu is up there, although i've heard he's not that great in pass coverage.

Re: Best Safety in the League???
Lenny P's latest article is about the new school safeties, yet no mention of Sean Taylor. Interesting.

I remember the week leading up to the St. Louis game Torry Holt was on the John Thompson show. He made it a point to mention that when he lines up he is aware of Taylor at all times. It was no coincidence that every time Holt caught a ball he dropped to the turf immediately. I truly think that Len P.'s bias against Snyder and the Redskins has had a negative impact on his work and has diminished his credibility. Now, he isn't nearly as bad as Sally Jenkins who's articles on the Redskins should not be published. I knew that every week when they lost I would see an article from her front and center. At least she did own up that she was wrong at the end of the season after she blasted them following Denver, New York, etc... |

He has only been in the league two years. I don't know how you can compare Polmolive, Dawkins, Ed Reed etc.... Fast forward five years and he will be the prototype. |

Re: Best Safety in the League???
In my opinion, Sean Taylor is not among the top Safeties. Physically, his is the best. No safety in the league can do what he does...
BUT, there were too many plays where he was outta position and we gave up a big play because of it. Just my opinion, but for his physical talent he isn't doing near what he should be on the field. That said, I'd rather have him on the team that any other safety in the league...because he's that physical, makes huge hits, scares recievers, and is gonna get better at everything as he goes. |

Re: Best Safety in the League???
his speed helps erase his mistakes, so there's no downside to letting him learn on the job.
