non story. those reporters should have like an 18" rule or something. i don't know where it says its OK to stick a camera or mike within 2" of your face. the guys lucky belichek didn't shove it up his ass. there is ways to go about your business respectfully

Did you actually see the clip of the shave we are talking about?
It wasn't like the guy was chasing Belichick down the street snapping pictures. He was standing a couple of feet in front and Mangini (sp?) taking pictures because he works for the Boston Globe and that's his job and Belichick ran up from behind him and shoved the camera in his face. He wasn't being disrespectful to anyone, he was just doing his job, along with about 50 other photographers.
Personally, I'd be really pissed if someone did that.

Here's the clip, I just don't see where it was justified but oh well

Masslive.com: Video: The shove heard 'round the world

Seems like he could have just slid between the two guys standing in front of him.

I saw it...no big deal. Even the NFL Network guys (Marshall Faulk et al)were laughing about it, saying "I guess he didn't get the shot". I think we should all just get over it.

BAD Belicheck!

Move on!

I do agree that it's really not that big of a deal and that were probably only talking about it because we have nothing better to discuss, but I really do think it made Belichick look like a huge a$$hole. But then again, the cutoff sweatshirt has been doing that for years.

Re: What was up with the Belichick shove?

Of course it was rude, but Belichick is generally a rude person. You can't really expect him to tap the guy on the shoulder and politely ask him to move -- it's not that kind of environment after a game. However, any normal person would have gently pushed him aside with their arm somewhere around the reporter's waist while asking to be excused.

That said, you have to look at it from Belichick's perspective. This is IN New England, and Belichick probably knows the reporter personally (as well as most of the other NE reporters). He has to deal with this after EVERY game, and it has to get frustrating. It's possible that he has repeatedly told all the reporters to give him room after a game, and they don't honor his request. If that were the case, I would have probably done the same thing.

Another thing: people are rude every single day. That's not news -- even if it was the great almighty Bill Belichick (who we already know is rude anyways).

While, what you say is true. We are bombarded with images of media hounding celebs at all levels. It MUST be a tremendous pain in the ass, and I am sure they overstep there bounds routinely. I know I find it intolerable! I can't get real excited about infringing on the............media's.......space. A little of their own medicine. No rest for the wicked (be they evolutionary or created)

I just think there's a big difference between taking a picture and laying your hands on someone. Is it a huge deal in the grand scheme of things, no of course not. But it says alot about Belichick as a person.

Re: What was up with the Belichick shove?

i wish the guy he had hit like that would have been younger cause maybe then he would have just smacked the taste right out of billy boy's mouth.if a player would have done that to a member of the press like that,he would have gotten fined, suspended, and sued by the guy he hit.bellencheck deserves to be fined over it in my view!

Honestly, looking at the push again, I really wasn't that bad. Of course it was not needed and it was quite excessive. I thought it was hilarious though.
