Re: Super Bowl XLI game thread

I mentioned this is the other thread. I think Addai was the MVP here. Rhodes a close second and Peyton came along for the ride.

Hey, it's alright. We do support a D.C. area team so politics aren't a foreign subject to anyone on this board. Everyone knows CBS is a little left of center anyway. The game was great even if it was a bit sloppy! Happy for the Colts!

Good Game, Good Time had here. Congrats to the Colts, although I'm very jealous, but I'm glad Peyton/Dungy won the big one.

Now the one thing that did piss me off tonight, and maybe i'm a woman for this but....

Wasn't some idiot supposed to drop crazy money to propose to his wife via super bowl commerical?? When did that happen?

Anti-American? Are you kidding me? Why would people wanting to get our men and women out of Iraq under constant fire and strife anti-American. The Republicans have done a great job in convincing people that if you are against the war in Iraq that you don't "support the troops" which is beyond bullshit. You can be against a war, but support the troops 100%, such as myself.

Agreed 100%. I think we should keep this on topic, but this is compeltley accurate. I hate the war and have since the start, but I am beyond every single soul over in Iraq right now and weather I agree with it or not I thank each one of them for sacraficing what they do.

Hopefully apology is accepted and we can move on, but I agree.

Congrats to the colts--to think, they won it with defense, running, and the short pass!

I thought one of the RBs should have been MVP, but that was one of those deals where it was for Peyton's career as much as for this game.

How long until the draft?

I realize I'm beating a dead horse here. Regardless...

To think that Peyton Manning won the SB game by attacking the cover 2 in the same manner that Mark Brunell was doing this season for us...

Sometimes good quarterbacking is taking what the defense gives you, as easy as it may seem.

It's true and I'm sure that played a factor in his decision making, but even so did you see how much room Addai had to make plays?

That's just patience at its best.

I agree. But the vote at my party was undecided on backs. MVP had to go to Manning. :vomit:

Good point....Brunelle's passes left his hand in 3 seconds...Mannings 5 secs or so.....check down. 1 of the cover 2's weaknesses. Gotta have some quick backers. Kudos to Dungy's rain and non-rain game plan. GREAT coach!

I think Joseph Addai played the best game of any Colt, but considering that regardless of how the game unfolded, any loss by Indy would have meant 6 months of grilling Peyton over a stake, it's only fair that in a winning outcome, he gets a meaningless award like SB MVP.

Also a good point. Manning probably has more confidence in his blockers than Brunell does in his. Not sure whether thats the lines fault for having poor pass pro or Brunell's for not trusting them (likely both), but Brunells ave. yards per attempt this year were similar to Mannings yard per attempt from the playoffs, so I think its a lot of that same patience factor.

It helps immensely to have a defense.
