Overreated and inconsistent. Not a good combo.

I didn't think I'd find much, but check out these catch %'s:

2006-57%
2005-53%
2004-63%
2003-69%
2002-58%

Could Shockey be regressing?

Or Maybe it is Eli starting.

QB certainly plays a factor in this number (but not a significant one)...but QBs in this league get a lot worse than Eli.

Kellen Winslow caught 75% of the passes thrown his way last year. Eli Manning is way, way, way better than Charlie Frye will ever be.

Winslow is also better than Shockey, until SKINSandCANES says otherwise.

Are you guys kidding me! Look at Cooley's production versus Witten and Shockey the past year or so...Cooley is by far a better production TE. He may not be top three, but he sure is hell is at least top 4 or 5.

I would say that Cooley is the most underrated reciever/TE in the NFL.

I'd agree.

Thats really saying something though, he's pretty well respected around the league. It's just that his name doesn't come up when you talk about the leagues best offensive player...and it really should.

Now he's not nearly as valuable as a great QB or a great RB, but hes really dominant with respect to his position.

I would say that he has been the most productive, consistent TE in the NFC the last 2 seasons.

I concur, at the least he should have made the ProBowl. But the ProBowl players aren't the greatest either, so what can you do. Winning usually solves everything. Once your team is winning and seen winning in the national spotlight it doesn't matter if you taper off the next few seasons, your name will be cemented in the American household.

We quite possibly have the worst TE depth in football. Cooley is clearly a Top 10 player at his position. He probably falls into the 10-6 category, where exactly is like splitting hairs.

Put Crumpler on any other team and he is no more than average. IMO he drops way to many balls.

Re: Scouts Inc. TE rankings

K2 is not getting the credit that he should, in my mind he is def a top 5 TE

My top 5 (in no order)

Kellen Winslow
Antonio Gates
Todd Heap
Tony Gonzolez
Jeremy Shokey

Witten and Cooley are probably tied for 6, my problem with cooley is all his dropped passes this past year. Which Shockey has also but Shockey seems to be bigger, faster, more clutch, and a better red zone target

I don't get the fascination with Winslow. He's been injured most of his short career, and yes, he had a really good season last year.
