WOW! have you not seen the last three seasons with brunell? we changed coaches, play books and went away from Gibbs style offence...to do what...to somehow help his game style...to pasify him. well guess what. none of that worked did it? All I am saying is that it is time to stop....living in the world of excuses for him. he sucks! everyone that follows football knows it.
Brooks...he sucks too. but hell he can prob. move out of a pocket now and then. Culpeppercoming to our team would be a major improvment. What if jason is not the answer? then what? collins? BRUNELL? please.

Brooks had a workout, that is it. IF we get rid of MB for Brooks that is moronic. MB knows our offense already, did get us to the playoffs in 2005, etc. Brooks hasn't done squat!!!!!!

I would call that a complete slap in the face if they cut Brunell and bring in Brooks.

Shameless self-promotion. It is what it is.

Re: Brooks Works Out For The Skins?!

I think JC can learn from MB. However, MB makes way too much money to ride the pine. If you want keep Collins around another year, he can teach JC the system and play a game or two if necessary, cut MB for cap reasons and sign Brooks as a back up to the vet minimum.

Oh, and I loved Reggie Brooks, I just wish he panned out more the one season! He was great to watch that year.

Brooks is a used up, never been. Mark will be fine in the roll he is in right now, a backup, that might have to come in and play a few downs or a game or two.

There is no way we will pick up brooks, it's a waste of time to even bring him in for a look.

I agree...that brooks is no gem......but MARK "no heart" Brunell????
Well I certainly wouldn't accuse Brunell of having "no heart". The guy had us at the doorstep of the NFC Championship game two years ago. Everyone said he was washed up after 04 and he only came back to have maybe the best season of his career. I know Portis and Moss stepped up huge at the end of 05, but Brunel was the Captain of that ship. He may not have the physical skills to be starter anymore, but he will always "fight his guts out" as Big Joe would say.

As an earlier poster mentioned, Gibbs would never have a QB who turns the ball over as much as Brooks. Honestly, I'm surprised to hear that they gave him a look.

Woo Hoo!!!! Ten posts baby. Thread starter priveleges booooyyyyeeeee!

I agree with your QB depth chart projection....however, it seems most here are not thrilled with the idea of Mark Brunell as a long term backup.

I agree, based on age.
Brunell does have an unbeatable attitude.
He is the ultimate team player...he gave us some amazing games against Dallas....he actually gave us some hope that we haven't had for a very long time...before Brunell got in synch with Moss....he was basically average.
I really hope Brunell stays around for a long time...but as a 3rd stringer or coach next year....beyond that he may hurt us.
I love his attitude. We need other Redskins to pick that up.
The only thing we need is a potential starter at number 2.....right now, we dont have that. I really dont know of any QB available that has that potential. (excluding Culpepper, who is walking on eggshells).

For you Brunell haters...please tell me who we pick up at this point (except Culpepper) to replace him at number 2?

Brunell's the chief reason for the Redskin's woes. Please don't tell me Brunell led us to the playoffs. I saw the games.

Re: Brooks Works Out For The Skins?!

It's a little late to be looking to cut your #2 QB and bring in a guy that would need to learn the system on the go during camp.

Brooks was probably here for a workout just as a precaution in case MB's shoulder wasn't coming along.

Nothing to get too excited about.

Exactly. Thank you for bringing some sense back into the thread.

Experience in the system goes a long way. While I wouldn't be thrilled to have MB as our starter (in the event of a JC injury), I would be a little upset if we cut him. I know he has a big salary, but I think he's probably one of the top 10 most important players on the team.

Re: Brooks Works Out For The Skins?!

i cant believe we are talking about Aaron freaking Brooks. the guy has done nothing but lose games, and commit turnovers, his entire NFL career. and some of you guys want him here? what the hell is going on around here? i am not big on Brunell, ill take him every day of the week, and twice on Sunday, over Brooks

Re: Brooks Works Out For The Skins?!

Didn't we learn anything after seeing MB struggle in picking up this system last year? It takes a good year to get comfortable in this offense and some here want to cut BOTH Brunell and Collins??

Thank god the fans don't run the team I swear.

So let me ask you this. If we could upgrade the back-up QB position, but the guy had to learn the system. Would you bring him in? Or, would you take a guy who has less talent, but keep him around just because he knows the system?

Personally, I think all this taking a year to learn an offense is a bunch of BS. How about running less plays and executing them better?
