The only difference this time around to me, is I don't think the Skins have the "horse power" to stay with the Cowboys, unless Romo makes mistakes or the Cowboys turn it over. The 2007 Skins make too many mental mistakes, penalties at the wrong time, bad clock managment, timeout issues, ect. And even with help, they have to play every game to the last snap. It is frustrating to fans of Joe Gibbs, that this Skins team is so mistake ridden!

Thanks Lady Brave for another great, great memory!!! I attended that game, and a number of Skins fans poured to the exits as soon as Whitten burned Archuleta to set up Vanderjagt's game winning attempt. Too many crazy finishes have happened in this rivalry to ever give up when the game is close at the end like that.

I am one of those people who believe that no matter how healthy the Skins could have been for this game, Dallas still would be favored. Dallas has only gotten better where Washington is almost the same as last year with some minor additions.

Dallas has gotten a lot better on both sides. The O-line has improved and the O all together is clicking. Even a healthy Skins defense would have not been able to stop them, IMO. The D has a healthy Ellis and Ware is going to chit chat with JC a little this weeken as he picks him from the turf.

Before injuries on the D (Washington, Rogers, and now Taylor), the Skins defense was playing better than the Dallas D. The Dallas D was much more vulnerable to the pass because your safeties cannot cover like Taylor and Landry.

Yeah, and the Skins were losing even when those guys were in the line-up.

I beleive in the importance of good D, but without a good offense to go along with it, it doesn't mean much in TODAY's NFL.

The NFL is much more offense-orriented these days that they came up with so many rules so the the fans at home and in the stadiums can see more TDs. No "touching" after 5 yards, no horse collar, no "touching" the face mask, too many pass-interference calls, protecting the QB too much...etc.

We can go on and on about who would have a better D if it wasn't for injuries. But we all know which of the two has a beter offense that can actually score.

Well if you have read some of the post by the skin fans on this site its easier to take the Dallas fans. Atleast they are choosing their team to win.

I'm just back from local Pub where I took it HARD from fricking cowpuke fan / friends of mine.
Yes, why are they friends when they like Dallas? No answer.

My Skin fan friends were pretty quiet and I had to do all the talking [go figure lol]

I swore up and down we "could" win this game. They talked trash but I never backed down.

I "LOVE" Redskins vs Cowscrotums Week. To me this is what football is all about. When we win I will CHOKE them on their words.

Well, the Cowboys won that game, 24-21, and as it turned out, was the only legitimate loss for the eventual Super Bowl XXVI champion Redskins who finished 14-2 since they basically punted the meaningless final regular-season game - their only other loss.

The roles reversed the following season. The Cowboys came into Washington D.C. with an 11-2 record and a victory over the 8-5 Redskins away from clinching their first NFC East title since 1985. But this weird late end-zone fumble recovered for a touchdown gave the Redskins a 20-17 victory over the eventual Super Bowl XXVII champion Cowboys. Johnson was so mad on the flight home, he suspended dinner service.

Come with me to the 1993 season opener, the defending Super Bowl champions opening up at RFK against the dreaded Redskins, but without Emmitt Smith, in a contract dispute with Jones. The Redskins pounded some reality into the Cowboys, beating them, 35-16. OK, that was only the opener, but look what we were dealing with: The Cowboys went on to win back-to-back Super Bowl titles and the Redskins would win only three more games that year, finishing 4-12, the consequences of both finishes siphoning off Cowboys offensive coordinator Norv Turner to become Washington's next head coach.

Want to try 1995, the year the Cowboys finished 12-4 and the Redskins 6-10? Why, the Redskins beat the Cowboys twice that season, beating the 4-0 Cowboys and then the 10-2 Cowboys.

Or 2000 and 2001? The Cowboys would finish 5-11 both of those seasons. The Redskins would finish 8-8 both seasons. But guess what, the Cowboys swept the season series from the Redskins both seasons, accounting for 40 percent of their eventual victory totals those years.

And just for good measure, although this might seem as if piling on since the majority of this Cowboys roster remembers last year when the 2-5 Redskins arose from the defeated to beat the 4-3 Cowboys at FedEx Field, 22-19, kicking the winning field goal even after the clock had totally expired, a new one for sure in this 94-game series.

Go figure. All of it. They threw sense out the window when it comes to Cowboys-Redskins. The only common thing about these occurrences is their spooky regularity.

So here we go for the 95th time, and me, I'd beware of the Cowboys heralded as 10- or 11-point favorites.

There you go, now you know why I do not talk so much smack during this week....any given Sunday gentlemen. There are no records, there are no debilitating injuries, there is just their team and ours and 100 yards a real-estate in the middle.

LETS PLAY SOME BALL!

Also, don't forget about the strike game in 1987 -- while most of the Cowboys starters had crossed the picket line and suited up to play a Redskin team full of replacement players, the replacements beat the Cowboys in Dallas 13-7.

People always forget about that one.
