So I would agree you can probably save some money by not having season tickets and buying individual games, but personally I waited over 20 years to get my season tickets and I take pride in being a season ticket holder. It seems a little silly, but when I sit in my seats it means more to me and feels different then if I were in any other seat in there. If you don't get that same feeling when you sit in yours then you should definitely let them go.
I know what you saying about the feeling you get going to the game as a ticket holder it just feels a little different. Like these are my seats in our house. Its not a thing of affording the tickets but more of is it very practical way to spend my money and the hassell of selling the other tickets at a loss.

Re: Not Renewing My Season Tic's

That's a sticky situation, but it sounds like giving up your seats and scalping/stub hub is your best way to go, especially since you do not live in the DC area.

If you could somehow package the other 6 games and get the value of those 6 + the 2 preseason games, it would be worth it. It's probably a catch-22, since the 2 games you probably go to are the Cowboys and either Giants or Eagles, and those are the games that would fetch the most.

Re: Not Renewing My Season Tic's

My Uncle has season tickets for 5 seats in the nosebleed section. Every year he has a guy (the same guy, who is a skins fan) that is willing to purchase those seats from him. He uses the money from selling those seats to purchase 2 better seats off of Stubhub or somewhere. We get great seats every year by selling the less attractive seats.

So if what I understand your saying is that your uncle sells his upper level tickets for about $5,000 to $6,000 over his price to purchase club level or better at around $3,000 each. Or does he get two really good tickets for one game for you two to go too. ( thats the proper way to use to, too and Two).

Dude. There should be plenty of folks down here who'd be glad to take those off your hands. I'll send you a PM. Heck. I love preseason games...

We pick and choose. We do not attend every game, however when we do go, we get LL 50 Yardline. Whatever the cost is over the price we pull out of pocket. That is still a discount compared to what the cost could be.

I never said that the selling our tickets covered the full cost of the new tickets we purchased. I am sure that he slightly overprices the tickets when he sells them so that he may profit. The profit helps offset the price of the tickets we purchase later.

Sorry, the real game experience isn't so hot, or more to the truth worth the big bucks if you are only going to a few games a year. I mean sure the atmosphere can be electric during a really big game, but come on.. the traffic, the crowds and sitting in a cramped seat for 3 hours, then having to get up, deal with the crowds, then the traffic going home, etc sort of negates that. If you were going to make all 8 games I might say season tickets would be worth it, but I agree with Mredskins, get a nice HD TV and you got that beat. No crowds, no traffic, can easily get snacks if not have them sprawled out before hand, not to forget the nice soft Lazyboy you get to sit in. And if the game is a stinker, turn the channel or just leave and do something else.

And don't forget a relatively clean bathroom!

Re: Not Renewing My Season Tic's

Just a thought, and probably a pipedream, but what if the Skins move back to DC? Aside from the jacked-up cost and club-level posers, most of the headache involves trekking around the beltway to get to FedEx not to mention the added migraine getting in/out of the parking lot. Skins in DC would of course eliminate that and make game day an ugly drunken Metro ride.

I'm in New York now so I'm not up on the latest Fenty-Snyder stadium pow-wow. But if something's foreseeable in, say, the next 5 years or so, holding on to tkts might be something to consider. If you held season tks at RFK would you ever pass them on? I wouldn't.

Ahh..RFK... what sacred ground. I attended a Nationals game last year and it was like seeing an old friend.

Re: Not Renewing My Season Tic's

Quick story...nothing to do with season tickets. I travelled with a friend 3 years ago to Dallas and landed tickets to the Skins/Cowboys Monday night game. About 5 minutes into the 4th quarter my buddy pukes his guts out on several Cowboy fans in the row ahead of us and I have to drag his drunken ass out of there. As I get him into the rental car, I turn on the radio just as Moss catches the first of 2 TDs to beat the 'boys. We took so much crap from those fans around us all game and I MISSED our comeback and the chance to gloat. The story of my life.

Stubhub explicitly states that one cannot sell entire packages on their site somewhere.

I wish I had season tickets, I'd love to go to two games a year, sell the rest on stubhub and actually make a profit.

The profit to be had from selling season tickets is a pipe dream. Maybe some people who have 1st level 50 yard line can sell for a profit but for most season ticket holders it's a losing battle. When you figure in the 2 worthless preseason games and the fees added onto the invoice you are already about $400 down by the time September rolls around. With a 90,000 seat stadium there is only a few games where the demand will be greater then the supply. Then add in the 15% fee that stub hub takes from your sells. My tickets in row 12 of the 2nd level are $80...so I need to sell them for $94 each just to break even. There are very few games that i can get $94 per ticket for on Stub Hub. I love having my tickets and I will never give them up...but the idea that some people have that they are some sort of cash cow is just not true.

I didn't realize it was so hard to sell them for the Skins.

My knowledge is of Red Sox games, and you can sell bleacher seats for $75 for goodness sake. People will pay it too. It's extremely easy to sell your sox tickets for 2 and possibly 3 times thier face value.
