How did Hamilton do? He was the guy who saw no chance of making the team and asked to be let go only to get resigned last week.

Hamilton played like an animal. He had the hit of the game, causing a fumble. Dont get me wrong, I dont know if he played his position well, but he made some nasty hits.

I think he is great in zone coverage, would be good on kick off coverage teams and really is a sound hitter. Not sure how he covers in man though.

Actually, I thought Torrence did okay. I have been watching him a lot and he is pretty much right with his receiver causing the QB to look for other options. On the play he got beat, he had good coverage it was just a better throw.

No. He's not going to be the number 2 corner, but I am okay with him as the third or fourth corner.

Tryon's a rookie and not a superstar rookie. He's gonna get beat like a drum pretty much through his first year.

Re: Early Cut list, or Please Get Off My Team

I can't stand Tryon. I'd like to see Mason stick but his return skills aren't that good and his ST tackling still needs work. I think we keep 6 corners and 4 safeties until Carlos is at full strength then we go with 5 corners. I want to keep 4 rb's and might need the spot. Under that scenario, keep Rogers, Springs, Smoot, Torrence and either Richardson or Holt (put on Tryon on PS and see if his playing level catches up to his talking level). Safeties Landry, Doughty, Horton and Fox (Moore on PS).
BTW, the competition at WR is over IMO. I know that a lot of people on here are in love with Mix but I think McMullen is showing the potential the Eagles saw a few years ago and he's ready to break out. Unless Thomas or Kelly go on IR (would the NFL let you put someone on IR before the season for a strain?) the top six are set.
I think Chris Wilson is gone too because with Carter and Taylor you really don't need a pass rushing specialist that can't tackle or turn a running play back inside.

torrence is fine, just as long as you don't let him start... ever.

as far as holding down the bills offense - you're talking about jp losman and trent edwards... that's not exactly peyton manning or tom brady (the peyton less colts put up 400 on us btw). torrence was the only one that really did anything redeeming (i mean, on the hardy play, he had him blanketed, but 5'9" vs 6'5" i mean, sometimes it's just not going to happen.

Torrence has had a solid camp and has impressed in games, he has been beaten a few times but who doesn't. Mason will make the team, Fincher will make the team (I've watched him and he's everywhere) Moore did ok. Tryon is having a hard time adjusting and should be given every chance till the last game. McMullen was solid. Our backup offensive line did well, especially on the last drive. It's going to be tough cutting some of these players and some will find another home with another team.

It will be interesting to see if Torrence develops. If he doesn't, a pick might need to be used next year on a nickel corner, because the Shawn Springs--release watch will start all over again.

Re: Early Cut list, or Please Get Off My Team

I love Marcus Mason but I dont ever want to see him returning a kick again. He holds the ball in such a way that its going to get popped out too frequently.

Tryon and Westbrook continue to do NOTHING to endear me to them. Torrence getting beat on that play was pretty bad but, its James friggin Hardy and it was a pretty good throw too imo.

Step it up out GTFO.

Just one cautionary note about McMullin:

He has a ton of experience in the West Coast Offense - - in practice. His game performances over his entire career have yet to rise to the level of "mediocre".

Is he better than Mix? Maybe. But don't get lathered up about the "treatness that is Mr. McMullin" just yet. He's been a major disappointment wherever he's been so far...

There is no question that McMullen has out-performed Anthony Mix at this point. Has Mix even caught a pass yet? Doesn't matter now because Mix is done.

I don't think anyone here is getting "lathered up" about McMullen. In fact, there's no point in getting worked up about him because there won't be any room for him on the roster anyway. I don't see anyone breaking into the Moss/Randle El/Thrash/Thomas/Kelly lineup. Those positions are locked up -- and there won't be a sixth wideout.

I agree with this, given the needs on other areas such as the Secondary and the Linebackers there's no point in having a sixth WR.

Not sure why you are so convinced of that. Zorn likes to run 3 and 4 WR sets quite often, so it's reasonable to think he might want the extra depth at WR.

Seattle had 6 WRs on their roster last year. So did Green Bay, another WCO team.
