Re: 4-2 the rest of the way?
I think the Seahawks have already packed it in and are looking for the Mora era to begin. If the offense puts up some points and uses the game as a confidence booster then the rest of the season should be good (5-1 , loss to either Bal or NYG). If it is a close, defensive game then 2-4 is more likely. Right now the Seahawks are 31 against the pass and opponents average over 34 minutes of TOP.

i know i say this alot but im just happy we get to play some meaningful football at the end of the year. last year when we clinched a playoff spot the atmosphere at fed ex was awesome. guys and girls running up to each other giving hugs, huge genuine smiles on everyones faces . . . having to fight to make the playoffs and doing so is really special after a long hard fought year. Skins needing to play tough to clinch a playoff spot. would you want it any other way? no me, weve played hard for 10 games to set up this opportunity to go to the playoffs and i wouldnt have it any other way!! go skins!!!! |

Re: 4-2 the rest of the way?
The only thing consistent about the '08 Redskins, they play to the level of the competition. If it's a good team, they keep it close and somehow managed to win some of these games. When they play a team they are supposed to roll. they allow the weaker team to stay in the game and somehow manage to squeak out a victory, St Louis was the exception. Seattle, Cincinnati and San Francisco are supposed to be locks. New York, Philadelphia and Baltimore will be struggles. The way the Redskins play, all of these games will be nail bitters.

Re: 4-2 the rest of the way?
It's also important to note that if the season ended today we have the 6 seed. We have the same record as Dallas and Atlanta. Dallas still plays at Pit and Phi with the Giants and Baltimore at home (they will lose at least two of those). ATL still has Carolina and TB at home and a trip to SD, Min and NO. With a rookie QB (albeit a great one) expect them to lose at least two. Phi is a half game behind and face 5 teams that are vying for the playoffs. TB (the current 5 seed who holds a one game lead over us) has a pretty cake remaining schedule but Carolina (2 games up on us) have a really tough schedule (@ ATL, GB, NYG, and NO with TB and Den at home) and could realistically lose 5 of those finishing 9-7. Despite the past two games, we are still in a pretty good position (despite how far the media is up the Pukes ass).
I love this time of year when we are playing games with meaning.

Like, SS said, against good D's we can't seem to get out of our own way. Cinci is bad but they do have some talent. Last week they played w/ Phili who have a similar record to our own. Sea is getting MH back i believe, and we haven't exactly played real well there. Sea: L NYG: L @ Balt: L @ Cinci: W Phili: W SF: W Damn, that sounds bad, so i hope i'm wrong, but unless we do some fixin (which is very possible) this thing might get ugly. |

3 of the last 4 years we've had threads like these but they always seem to come after a delibitating loss when the majority sentiment is that we are the Washington Generals of the NFL and nearly all hope is lost, barring some bizarre planetary alignment.
When it's time for an inevitable thread like this next year, I say we start it right after a win.

Re: 4-2 the rest of the way?
anyone that says they wouldn't have been happy with 6-4 at the point in the season, before the season started, isn't telling the truth. the redskins will be favored in 3 of those games. and will win the 4th, to get into the playoffs. there, i said it. i never make predictions like this. but looking at the talent we have, all that needs to be done is coach Buges working on consistency. might be time to get Mr. Heyer back into the line up

Smootsmack:
Start this kind of thread after two wins in September and you might have a bunch of predictions of a 19-0 season. Euphoria - just like gloom - can blur one's vision... The Redskins should be favored in five of the last six games - assuming they are a point or two favorite over the Ravens in Baltimore. Three of their road games are against lesser opponents; the Ravens game in Baltimore will be challenging. The schedule sets up for them to win at least 4 of the last 6 - - and maybe 5 of the last 6. What remains is for the players to seal that deal.

Re: 4-2 the rest of the way?
I'll say it here first that we blow Sea out of the water this week. Our D holds them in check Portis runs for over 150 yards (unless his knee is an issue and Betts see's more time) and the passing game goes. I'll also say that one of our new Wr's scores. Heck lets have fun and the D scores one for us as they are due.

Re: 4-2 the rest of the way?
SEA L: We just cannot beat them at home.
NYG L: I think it will be very close, but we lose. BAL L: Our offense cannot match up with their D. CIN W: Win by the skin our teeth. PHI W: I think we'll handle Philly. SF W: Another close win. Right now I have absolutely no faith in Zorn or this offense right now for us to go 4-2 down the stretch. |

11/23 SEA - Win. Zorn knows Seattle. West Coast trip or not, this will be a solid win. Plus Zorn can find Timmy K. in the press box, wave & smile as we put an ass-whippin on Seattle. 11/30 NYG - Win. IMO Zorn will have modified his playcaling due to the OL situation and an inspired Skins team will beat the Giants in a close game. 12/7 BAL - ???. While Baltimore's D is very good, their O isn't setting the world on fire either, this game could go either way. We may suffer a let-down after a big win against the Gints 12/14 CIN - Win. Cincy is bad and the weather will likely dicate a slugfest on the ground, which we should win fairly easily. 12/21 PHI - Win. The Iggles may be out of the playoff race by now and may flat out quit. IMO McNabb will continue to struggle and be the difference in giving us a close win. 12/28 SF - Loss. We should have a playoff spot locked up by now and be resting starters. If not, I still don't like this game. SF may have nothing to play for, but Singletary will not let them quit and will have them playing for pride and spots on next years team. It should be chalked as a win, but I don't like this game at all.

Re: 4-2 the rest of the way?
I think we were neither as good as it seemed after we beat Philly and Dallas, nor are we as bad as we seem after losing to Pitt and Dallas at home.
I think we right the ship and go 4-2. But we still might miss the playoffs with that record.

Re: 4-2 the rest of the way?
I can see us going 4-2 down the stretch without any hesitation. 3 of those teams (Cincy, SF, Seattle) have nothing to play for at this point and Philly is phading phast. The Baltimore game could easily be 9-6 and I don't look forward to the Giants matchup. Campbell is going to take a beating that day if we don't shore up the OL.

I'm the most pessimistic person on this site but I think the redskins will win out.
