Also even when all that Reggie Bush stuff came out it didn't even matter. The kid made a mistake. We are all forgetting that he was a young kid in college. Have you never lied in your life? Be honest with yourself. Not saying it is right, but you learn what honesty is and then you grow.
You are correct. Unfortunately for this poor boy, he chose his chance to grow in front of the national media. Now there's a tough learning experience.

Re: Glenn admits lying about suspension

It seems that for every negative thing that fans complain about, I can find something worst by another team that belittles it.

ProFootballTalk.com - Report: Rams Passed on Maualuga Because of Off-Field Concerns

Quote:
According to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Rams were concerned about Maualuga’s past history of off-field issues. However, Maualuga hasn’t been in trouble in a few years and is considered to be a bigger, more explosive hitter than Laurinaitis. And the Cincinnati Bengals were excited to grab Maualuga in the second round.
Quote:
The Rams did take Iowa cornerback Bradley Fletcher, who had a DUI arrest in 2007, in the third round. General Manager Billy Devaney said that the Rams evaluate character on a case-by-case basis.

Still can't believe Rey fell so far...almost every analyst i've heard talk about the draft thinks he'll be a monster. If Cinci can clean up it's locker room, and Palmer recovers, it will be a very good team again soon.

I have to be on his side on this one. Somethings are none of the general publics business. Now if the Skins wanted to look into it and check on his character and decided to speak with his college coach then fine. but honestly I simply would have told the people it's none of your business. I did something stupid, got caught, and punished. It's not like he got kicked out of school.

Re: Glenn admits lying about suspension

I'm pretty sure I heard cerrato say during a press conference something to the effect of:

I think there was omething about him seling tickets, but we've been in touch with Nebraska and aren't worried about it.

But Im fairly certain he had no idea what happeed, at least not at that point. Ya gotta hope they know what the deal is now.

Dumb on this kid's part to lie but I don't think it's a huge issue. Let's not act like we all haven't told a dumb lie or two in our lives.

The kid just got a very early lesson in media relations as a pro. What will be a bigger deal is how he plays in camp. this will be forgotten one way or another, it's not a big deal & at least give him credit for coming clean.

I kinda like the scouting report on this guy. He might've been a reach & I too was pissed we didn't grab an o linemen, but he sounds like an athlete w/room to grow. Hopefully he makes an immediate impact on spec. teams.

If we decide to trade any of our RB (Betts) for a starter quality LB, Then Glenn will be cut since he has proven he is not trustworthy by trying to hide his past. The Redskins don't need roster/lockeroom drama.

from all accounts ive read, he only "lied" to reporters and even then it wasnt to deny or get away with something but to try and not go public with what he had already disclosed to the proper people (his school, local police, skins FO, etc.). it doesnt say he didnt give the skins FO the full story behind closed doors if and when they interviewed him.

go skins!!

Re: Glenn admits lying about suspension

if he was charged with sexual misconduct but the charges were dropped (girl's story didnt add up, to many inconsistencies/lapses to prosecute without other corroborating evidence) i could see why cody and the univ are keeping things silent to protect cody and the girl whom have a right to privacy regarding allegations of sexual misconduct.

i only got this from one of the comments to the article, sounded like the person was from the univ and an alegation of sexual misconduct sounds like something the school would suspend him 3 games for if he was charged, then wanting to not name names or stir the pot after the charges were dropped due to privacy and embarrasment reasons.

again, just speculation from a comment but it would make sense that cody and the school are going this route for a sexual misconduct charge that was later dropped/dismissed.

go skins!!

Re: Glenn admits lying about suspension

there was 32 teams that passed over robinson and meredeth for a reason and in the later rounds its a hit and miss and its mostly misses so why worry if we get a starter out of the deal great if not oh well

Re: Glenn admits lying about suspension

So we learned here that a 5th round pick from Nebraska doesn't know how to handle a delicate question asked by the media - considering he's probably never in his life been exposed to this sort of scrutiny, i can't really blame him. If I wanted to blow some reporters off, i'd just tell them something that was essentially a non-story. A reporter isnt going to investigate selling tickets. One wanting to stir up some dirt (cough) JLC (cough), might pursue a "no comment." I'm not justifying his deceipt, but I understand it. Going to the AP a couple days later and telling them you lied to the Washington Post - that makes no sense at all. Maybe he wants attention?
