You basically started a thread to tell us that you don't think Tebow is the answer for the Redskins...yet no one was asking that question. Remarkable.

I got out of that jury. As far as Tim Tebow goes I can't help but wonder if his NFL equivalent is going to be Big Ben or Late Career Daunte Culpepper. He has a lot of the attributes of Big Ben including a big arm, mobility, and leadership. However that slow release worries me. Still if he ends up graded as a 1st round pick and Campbell ends up having a bad year I would love to draft him and take a shot.

Re: Tebow: Is he the Redskins solution?
If I am not mistaken, football outsiders a FACT-BASED research organization, has Campbell ranked 5th for all quarterbacks in terms of DVOA - when he has time to throw. In other words, when he is not pressured, the guy is one of the best in league. He doesn't have the instincts of a Rothlisberger when the play breaks down mind you, but Campbell is more than capable of leading a team to a lot of wins.
If we are talking about the draft, I have suggestion...DRAFT AN OFFENSIVE RIGHT TACKLE, followed by a LEFT GUARD in the first two rounds. And then go after whatever young talent is available via Restricted Free Agency next year. We have quarterback who is more than capable, what we lack is an o-line to pass or run behind. Tebow is a carbon copy of Vince Young, who at last check was a mediocre back-up. Simply put, an option quarterback has never successfully transitioned to the NFL. |

Re: Tebow: Is he the Redskins solution?
Tebow will never be be a NFL QB he might be a NFL TE or FB but not a QB. Why do you think he stayed another year no one had him higher than a 5th round draft pick last year. People kill me with that JC isn't the solution but name scrubs like Tebow and claim they will be. If ARE wasn't capable of being a NFL QB why or will Tebow?

Re: Tebow: Is he the Redskins solution?
To me if the worst were to happen and JC and Zorny go you basically have no other choice, but to allow the new HC to make the QB decision. No disrespect to Brennan, but what occurred this preseason doesn't bode well for his NFL future. You are going to have The Danny get his NFL coach in Shanny, Cowher, or Billick, and I do not see them really using Brennan for anything other than an emergency backup. Don't drink the Koolaid with Brennan. THe rest of the NFL did not see Brennan worthwhile picking up and we gambled on a potential steal. I don't see the kid ever being a starter, nor Chase Daniel unfortunately, who I thought seemed more poised than Colt. AS for Tebow being NFL caliber? Who knows, but recent history of Univ of Florida QB's in the NFL is not a good one. Do we draft a QB? Yes, if we lose Zorn and/or JC we have no choice. Collins might retire after this season or be put out to stud. The new HC might not deem the Brennan project worthwhile. JC is the only one that I think is going to be on good footing with a new HC. He has the tools and if used properly can kick ass, but that will be for the new HC to decide. If we do decide on a new QB, we don't get the sexy pick, we make our scout team work their asses off. The sexy pick QB's as of late don't seem to really pan out. Look at Brady, Big Ben, and now Flacco and Ryan. Good solid QB's at good solid Div IA programs, but were not the "sexy" picks of their respective classes, but were bigtime winners nonetheless.

Re: Tebow: Is he the Redskins solution?
I love Tebow, and this video isn't very accurate at all...nobody was ever criticizing his accuracy or ability to throw the deep ball with accuracy for that matter...they are just saying his mechanics are too slow. As in, he loads up his whole body to throw a ball and it's pretty obvious. Florida has the WR's to burn everybody so bad they make him look good. but i'm a gator fan, and i'd want him as a skin in a cocaine heartbeat just for his

Re: Tebow: Is he the Redskins solution?
Does anyone know where Tebow is going to actually end up in terms of the draft? I keep on hearing anywhere from mid first round to the 7th round.

Re: Tebow: Is he the Redskins solution?
If he gets drafted in the 1st round then I'm going to try and get in the NFL personel business. I'm still amazed that Pat White got drafted in the 2nd round.

I think that says alot about the varying opinions on his prospects as a pro.
