Re: Landry is now a bust!

he doesn't understand that he is THE last line of defense. going for the big hit is great.... but if you miss, its a touchdown. just tackle, for christ sakes

He's not a bust but he certainly hasn't panned out like he was supposed to have.

Re: Landry is now a bust!

See M. Bowen's comment about Landry & also listen to what Blache says about him. With his range he prevents big plays. How many times has a wr gotten behind him?

I think his tackling has always been poor but in his rookie year he would hit anybody. I think it all changed when Jacobs ran over him last year. Seems like he's protecting himself.

Overall, Landry is a great free safey in the passing game, but his tackling has become pathetic. I do agree w/yall on that. Good thing is that he'll be embarassed by it.

Sorry but if you put ANYONE 30 yards off the ball at the snap then a WR shouldn't get behind him. That's a BS cop out. He's not a great safety in the passing game, Ed Reed, Darren Sharper, Troy Polumalu are great safeties in the passing game because they make plays. Landry is just out there.

He's playing out of position. Put him back at SS where he belongs. He cannot determine tackling angles from so far away and is out of control as he attacks the line of scrimmage. I've seen way too many times he's been spun around by a back making a simple cut that if he plays fast but under control he'd be able to make a play.

Simply put, he's been awful in all aspects in 2009.

Re: Landry is now a bust!

LL has not been the same Brandon Jacobs TOOK HIS SOUL in last year's season opener.

To all of you who are crying that he is not playing his natural position - two things: 1) He did not play SS at LSU and 2) his embarrassing tackling abilities will only be exacerbated by playing as a SS.

LL is a selfish, immature DOG. He is an absolute detriment to this team. His despicable attitude and poor performance simply exemplifies what is wrong with this organization.

Anyone on this board who thinks LL will ever be a productive Redskin is only saying so because he/she spent $75 on LL's replica jersey. Smarten up.

He is a diva.

Nice post, he should take lessons from Patrick Willis on how to be a professional.

Pretty much sums up it up. What really made my blood boil yesterday was after Landry made a real nice play he got up, folded his arms and had the nerve to pose. Like he's god or something. You're getting your ass beat and you showboat??? WTF is wrong with some of these guys??? It's crap like that that really makes me not even like this team anymore. So after you take bad angle after bad angle, get a PF, plus you tackle like a girl...and you make ONE nice play and decide showboat? If I were Blache I'd sit this fucking pussy down for a while til he decides when and if he wants to play football.

Re: Landry is now a bust!

I do not think Landry is a bust by any means. He still has to learn to play disciplined and smarter. That will come with time. I got to admit in some ways I feel like the guy is fighting an uphill battle with some fans. A lot of expectations were put on him to be the next Sean Taylor after his death and there is no way anyone can live up to what #21 did.

Re: Landry is now a bust!

What's all this "playing out of position" crap? Are you guys kidding me? He's a football player for crying out loud! You guys act like he want from being a professional bowler to playing professional football. That's playing out of position to me. This guy has been playing football all of his life. You think he lined up at LSU and said, no coach I can't play this position? Hell no! Football players tackle. They run to the ball and make plays.

By any measurement, Laron Landry isn't playing good football. Yesterday wasn't the first time either. He's been pulling this crap ALL year and part of last year. This isn't anything new for him. He's lousy. And for where we drafted him in the first round, I'd say he's a bust. At the very least a huge disappointment. No excuses for this millionaire.
