re: Haynesworth back to the Titans?
sorry for the double post, but I think It'd be pretty sweet to trade haynesworth for marshall. But I highly doubt mcdaniels would do that, he seems to strict for character, plus haynesworth would still complain about being in a 3-4. A guy can dream though...

Re: Haynesworth back to the Titans?
Seems to be a lot of chatter about this today. Well we do know he was offered up to the Eagles, so it's certainly not a surprise if he's being offered up elsewhere as well. Just heard Adam Schein say he thinks he will definitely be traded. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Re: Haynesworth back to the Titans?
I'm just a bit confused as to how hard tweeking any contracts or making a trade would be...
#1- can we not, with agreement with AH redo his contract basically extending the remaining of his money owed him over a lengthier period of time which would make him a more interesting commodity? I mean if AH is not interested in staying or playing in our new 3-4 defense then he would make some accomidations in order to get traded. #2- could we not find a team who would be interested in him and him in them and make a new contract for the new team with AH's approval and trade him to them afterward? I would think as long as AH is wanting a new contract in order to be traded then it should be fine. All the time owners redo contracts basically adding money and screwing themselves in having to pay more over a longer period. Is it not possible for the player to accept a new contract or want one in which he makes slightly less each year then his original contract in order to facilitate a trade? |

Re: Haynesworth back to the Titans?
Ideally, we could package Carter and Haynesworth together in a deal and get more than either of them are worth individually. Neither really fit into our current plans and ast year showed what they could accomplish when working on the same line. I'd say the two of them together would be worth the equivalent of a low 1st round pick. I doubt New Orleans would be interested.
On a side note, I actually looked at the teams who have draft picks in the bottom of the first round and everyone but Minnesota and New Orleans runs the 3-4. So the most of the best teams in the NFL run the 3-4, while most of the worst run the 4-3. I'm sure its probably just a coincidence but, generally speaking, the best teams in the NFL have stud Quarterbacks and run the 3-4. surprised i never noticed that before.

Re: Haynesworth back to the Titans?
Haynesworth for a 1st and 2nd round pick, the equivalent value-wise, or better.

I dont think it is fact that Haynesworth refuses to play in a 3-4, I think he just doesnt want to play NT.

Re: Haynesworth back to the Titans?
That's why there's the clause "equivalent value, or better". People remember only his theatrics, but not 99% of the other plays he played on or that he defied orders in order to sack Sheli.
