Yea but it's easier to replace a RT than a LT

Lets see how this is structured. Hopefully the yearly payout in back heavy so we could part ways in 2-3 years if we wanted it.

How are you not happy about this .... we are 4-4 .. just proved in writing and $$$ we locked in our QB for 5 yrs ... even if he gives us 3 good ones .. tonight can change the outlook once again for this team ... let's beat the eagles ass tonight .. let's be 5-4 with our leader .... let's make a run at this damn thing ! Big trainwreck waiting to happen. Any sane Skins fan cannot be happy with this contract. 5 years???? Of course I only see him playing 2-3 years of that then being cut, but damn this is another bonehead front office move.

So you would rather have 5 walk and go with Grossman? The plan is to go with McNabb for 3 more years as the starter, during that time we need to draft a QB and let him learn for 2 years. ( A. Rodgers, T. Romo)

I really don't like to extension but what was plan B? Go with Grossman? I would've kept Campbell and kept the draft picks....but that's me.

Anyone feel like this is a way to bribe DM to play well tonight? Like "If you do well, we will give you BIG money"

I dont like this. I'm happy for Donovan the person, but this sucks for this football team. IMO, he shouldn't be in the same realm as Brady or Manning...

17 million a year seems too much. I hope it is set up in a way that we can get the money back in 2 seasons or so if he doesnt pan out.

Especially after what we've seen the last couple of weeks, $10 mill a year is what I would offer and that's been generous.

Re: Redskins and McNabb Agree to Contract Extension

Say what you guys want, but is the BEST move we could have made.

We have invested 2 draft picks in this guy for a 2nd and (3rd or 4th rounder)

Now Shanahan can draft his future and Redskins future prospect whoever that will be and groom him behind McNabb.

Instead of losing him to Free Agency and finding a way to fill the QB position and waiting for him to learn the offense or Sexy Rexy being our starter,we can now look to address the O-line,WR and what other positions of need in upcoming seasons.

GREAT JOB BRUCE!!
