Re: Shaun Rogers and Redskins Talking

excellent if it happens and he is motivated. now, nose tackle is no longer a draft need, we can draft one cam newton, one center/gaurd, and fortify the defense there on out.

Re: Shaun Rogers and Redskins Talking

If we can get Rodgers for a price, why not take him. He'll know that he's going to play for a 3-4 D. This season he didn't play that well, but last year, he was a monster.

Re: Shaun Rogers and Redskins Talking

I said this would be great on Madden. Put him at Nose, Haynesworth at the other D-End and Bryant at the other D-End you got a huge 3 man front that can cause major havoc. But the issue is that 2 of the 3 are headcases that need to be motivated to play.

Let's see what happens Kemo was coming of a serious injury you know it takes a year to get back to form imagine rotating Bryant, kemo & Rogers at NT.

Like most of you guys said, by signing Rogers would give us better options for draft.. Although I would prefer it if the contract is low-risk - we can cut him anytime without getting huge hit on the cap.

Like I alluded to before. For better or worse, Shanahan can't resist signing D-Lineman that played in Cleveland.

Re: Shaun Rogers and Redskins Talking

Wow, three pages so far and I don't think I saw one post that mentioned one minor inconvenience.....no team can sign free agents until a new CBA is in place.

Not to mention that signing Rogers would be yet ANOTHER player on the wrong side of 30 that Washington would sign. What happened to all the folks screaming for a "youth movement" in D.C.? What happened to the folks screaming "Build through the draft"?

The good news is, once a CBA is in place he should come cheap, I mean he only started in ONE game all last season.

And did the judge give him permission to leave the state of Ohio? There is a little matter of Rogers carrying a loaded handgun through security at Clevelands Int'l Airport.

Rogers was good in his prime, but that time has passed. He will never be even half the player he used to be.

Total 100% waste of time even talking to this guy. Rogers is basically an older Albert Haynesworth. Plays when he feels like it, rarely stays in shape and is somewhat of a headcase. Plus he's being flat out released by one of the worst teams in the NFL.

Rogers is not a stud at all. He's been let go by two doormat teams. Detroit and Cleveland. I don't even think he started last year.

He's a ten year vet.
This is a band aid move if anything. We're still going to need to grab another blue chip NT in the next couple of years.

We can talk, no harm in that. Who said he is going to play for next year.

We still want youth and to build through the draft. The thing is we dont have many draft picks.

The good news is, once a CBA is in place he should come cheap, I mean he only started in ONE game all last season.

If he gets a job anywhere in the country the judge will let him go under restrictions. He has a handgun license and yes it was a bonehead move but I really dont think Dude wanted to hurt anyone.. Still a real dumb move.

Rogers was good in his prime, but that time has passed. He will never be even half the player he used to be.
