Re: Redskins sign WR Donte’ Stallworth to a 1 year deal
The roster needs to be at 90 for camp, guys. Signing Stallworth doesn't mean we're out of the running for other free agents (he's on a one year, low cost deal, which screams "camp body" to me), nor does it mean the rookies don't get their chance. It means we need 90 bodies for camp, and Mike doesn't mind giving vets a shot to make the team...but even with that, I don't think he'll make it.
It's a one year deal for what is essentially pennies and Stallworth is a veteran in a season where they're trusting A LOT of rookies to come in and compete. Let's not panic, here. |

Last year with the Ravens (after his year off), he played in 8 games, started 0, and had 2 catches for 82 yards and one of them he fumbled. I'm not expecting much out of him considering he's shown nothing for 3 years straight. Hopefully he'll be a nice surprise though (him and malcolm kelly). edit: I don't think signing stallworth is going to impact us signing or not signing any other wr FAs. |

Not sure why everyone is so worried about our WR's because I'm not sold on any of our QB's capable of getting them the ball or a O line that can give a QB the time to throw the ball.

Hey why not.
Besides Santana & an unproven Rookie in Hankerson we really had nobody.

Re: Redskins sign WR Donte’ Stallworth to a 1 year deal
I don't like this move. Looks like training camp fodder. He was out of football last year. Relatively old for a wide receiver and slow. Looks like another Larry Johnson, Shawn Alexander or Joey Galloway signing.

He was with the Ravens last year. He's only 30 years old.

He's 30, not 33. He's just a camp body for now.

Re: Redskins sign WR Donte’ Stallworth to a 1 year deal
I don't get this move at all. Stallworth has pretty much been an underachiever his whole career. I know it's low risk but get the young guys on the field. Who cares if they make mistakes? Does MS realize that this isn't a playoff team?
