He can play both safety positions. Thomas down is probably done for the year, to replace him with T Jax would be great. Im not sold on Merriweather being ready, just dont have the confidence he is going to be able to perform at 100%. Best case at this point is to rotate in packages Merriweather/Reed at SS and Rambo at FS. If Rambo would struggle, having Tanard Jackson there playing behind him would be nice insurance. If Merrriweather would have a setback, you could play T Jax/Reed at SS. I dont care how good Gomes or Pugh are playing...T Jax is still more valuable and a better player.
I hate to say it, but we kinda need the guy. He would be a bonus to have back. We arent going to rely on him long term obviously but one year would be great that is a tall order though for a guy who has an obvious drug problem.

He is still 2 weeks away from being able to apply for reinstatement. Wont be anything new until he can do that. No clue on how long it will take the NFL to decide if they are going to reinstate him or not.

Re: Redskins Training Camp Thread 3.0

Is it a question of guys being able to be coached up by Raheem- a former head coach and expected overly qualified DB coach, or do guys lacking superstar talent like Pugh and Gomes never elevate their game?
Holding our breath for TJax sucks. It's year 2 of fearing being near a potential safety deficiency. Any chance Pugh/Gomes are wiser from aforementioned coaching?

Because he can't deal with the fact that he isn't a media darling anymore. At this point, he only gets any press when he leeches off the buzz surrounding anything RGIII's related. Why he is employed by any media outlet is beyond me. At the same time, I have heard he is a self-promoter par exellance.

Re: Redskins Training Camp Thread 3.0

I read the article and then started reading the comments. The Eagles fans are ripping McNabb and saying RG3 should stay away from him. The comments are pretty funny actually. When the Eagles fans are saying these things, that pretty much says it all.

McNabb is trying to be controversial to stay relevant. He still looks the fool for saying Shanny wouldnt change his offense for RG3, then proceeded to run his mouth after the offense was designed specifically for RG3.

Skins terminated Devery Henderson's contract.

I'm on my phone so someone else can feel free to post a link with information.

mcnabb's spent more time trying to trash the skins than he did playing for them.

seriously, he needs to build a bridge and get over it.

Re: Redskins Training Camp Thread 3.0

Does anybody have a feel for the offense this season per what's happening at camp/preseason etc.? Do people think it'll be mostly like last year's with some new twists or will we see something more similar to Mike's textbook Denver days?

I expect less optioning of the QB to limit contact, at least early on. Still think its more Kyle's call at this point than Mike's. Kyle proved alot last year, he will be deciding, but Kyle will mos def be throwing in new wrinkles I think with our TE's group and more passing options out the back field. I think Fred Davis has a career year and gets paid.

The interesting part about this question, is someone, I forget who, and can't link - sorry, broke down last year's offense, and pointed out specifically similar to textbook MS offenses it was. The real difference was the move to the pistol formation, but the plays ran were basically the same constructs.
