Adjust it , move it back , ok , but eliminate it ......no .So why have kickoffs , just start at the 20 after every score .Matty you said the success rate is 99.1 since 04 ,it's that .09 that makes it interesting and exciting .

Or the fact something happens 99.1% of the time without incident makes it F'ing boring.

No, it makes you want to rip your hair out and the kicker's legs off.

It's not exciting, you either laugh uncontrollably or you blow a gasket depending on which side you're on.

You call this exciting?

The .09% chance of anything is only interesting if you are the one holding a winning lottery ticket.

That's not an objective argument. That's the fear of change argument. I like the game too...that doesn't mean it can't be made better. I ask this...why? Why is it better with a 99.1% always-made-kick that generates virtually no excitement?

You can take that BS somewhere else .I like the game like it is ,yes ,so effing what ?Really because a bunch of bored wanna bees(most are drunk in front of their TVs) get tired of something....the whole game should change ,no ,not buying into it .
So why have a kicker ,for the thinking that I see in the posts here we don't need kickoffs either yes or no .

When Goodell has changed other things, you were one of the guys to defend his every action. This also isnt a bunch of drunk wanna be's leading this cause, this is the NFL and Goodell wanting it changed.

Even if they get rid of kickoffs, you still need someone to kick FG's. Or are you saying they should get rid of those? Since not having a kicker at all means just that, no FG's.

The whole game? No. The one play in a football game that is perfectly useless? Yes.

And that IS an nonobjective argument. I still haven't seen one single explanation of WHY the PAT should be retained other than "behhhhh!!! don't change!!!! change bad!" That is literally what the argument for keeping it comes down to.

I just need to finally ask: why do you put all these weird spaces near punctuation in your sentences? I've always wondered.

I saw this headline today and thought this is the stupidest thing i've ever heard of. It is one thing to try and improve player safety, but this borders on stupidity. Would this mean that kickers are mostly abolished, since Goodell currently has them mulling over eliminating the kick off completley??

NFL considering proposal to abolish extra points - NFL.com

He says that partially fan excitement factors into their decision, feeling that 99.9% of the time the extra point is almost automatic.

This guy sucks, seriously. I could see him saying that one day he envisions a 32 team playoff scenario because the "fans would be excited"....

Keep the PAT. Sure its almost automatic but those times when its not automatic and a team misses it seems like they end up chasing that point for the rest of the game and somehow the missed PAT ends up factoring into the final score. It aint broke and doesnt needs fixed.

Statistically the problem is that that almost never happens any more.
