I guess that's why he consistantly stayed after practice and caught an extra 100-200 balls a day, that shitty work ethic of his. Rod Gardner isn't as bad as the media makes him look. He makes the easy balls look hard, and the hard balls look easy.

What good did that do him? He stayed after practice and caught balls after practice, but yet he still had a hard time catching balls in games? He's just too inconsistent.

And I think ultimately that's what it comes down to, that no matter how hard he tries maybe Gardner just isn't that good.

You are probably one of those "fans" that think Ramsey is the next Montana, right?

He'll be traded the next time Charles Rogers gets hurt.

Re: So what if Gardner DOES stay?

problem is we'll only have two of those mediocre WRs on the field at a time.

I agree, Moss proved he can put up big numbers as the go to guy, he had a 1000 yard season and 10 TDs not too long ago.
So did Gardner, but you keep blowing that off, Matty. Only difference is he had only 8 TDs.

Gardner has also had 3 very inconsistent and very unspectacular seasons.

Seems like the pro-Gardner people blow that off more often than the anti-Gardner people blow off the one 1000 yard season he had.

He had one good season out of 4. Wow, I'm really impressed, even in baseball that's a crappy percentage.

When is it time to move on? I'd say 4 seasons is more than enough time to properly evaluate a player.

Last year was a disappointment for Moss because of injuries, but he STILL had a much better season than Gardner, and he also played in a conservative offense.
