He's way too good of a player to just cut. But really this is bullshit. He's one of if not our best player and one that's so difficult to replace. He knows that and he can't take his effing piss test? Um yeah I'd be listening to offers cause one more slip up and it might be an entire season. Inexcusable.

Trent's a great player but I'd put his ass out there and see what we could get in return. He no longer can be counted on...

@MarkBullockNFL
This news means #Redskins will be without Trent Williams against the #Vikings, #Packers, #Cowboys and #Cardinals.

No sweat guys we've got this covered, Ty Nsehke for the win.

Word is it will probably go down to 2 games but we'll see. Either way it sucks. Can we still win? Yes

Whatever the circumstamce is... he's not expendable lol. Theres no need to fly off the handle and cut one of the best LTs in the league. Maybe he'll get the message of losing over a MIL ... let him get that message. And personally no. TY doesnt make me feel "fine" about it not even close.

I am fucking livid. I don't understand irresponsible behavior in any form, let alone from someone who is paid so much.

SS84. SM is a repeat drunk and he got another shot because he is extremely good. That's life's reality and morality lesson. TW has been good to go for 5+ years. I have no idea what happened. Clearly it wasn't a good enough reason for an appeal to win, but lets not act like this guy was Fred Davis. He has laid his body on the line more times than you or I have for the Burgundy and gold and I believe earned a pass( no puffs though). It will come up at contract time and maybe he and the team move on then. But for now use the 4week + bye layoff to heal and come back ready to win.

I understand about SM and being a drunk. But what do you do if God forbid he has a moment (and sometimes recovering alcoholics momentarily fall), and he comes in stumbling drunk at meeting time. Do we just go "Oh, god bless his heart he's trying so hard", and make him sit in the back? Or do you send his ass home? And it sounds like this is SM's last chance, i would think if he crashes again and relapses completley, he's done in the NFL...

I would give TW a pass if this was his first offense. But it isn't. It probably won't be his last, but i hope it is. Regardless of if he's a good guy, or how great of a player he is (and he's great), what he has done or HASNT done (failing to go to the test), his mentality has put this struggling team in a mighty bad way. We don't need that kind of shit here. Someone else a couple of posts up sort of had my sentiments - regardless of what they did on the field, shit like this is inexcusable, especially when it's the second time. Learn his lesson? I don't think he did, sadly...

Re: Breaking: Trent Williams Suspended 4 Games

As for the on field impact, our depth is temporarily shot, for the next four games we are one injury away from starting Vinston Painter or shifting Scherff out of position. Nsekhe is a fine pass protector but he will give up more pressure than an all pro Williams, naturally. So McVay's reaction as a play caller will be matchup-based. Against Dallas he can probably call the offense as usual. Against Arizona and Minnesota we are probably going to limit ourselves to shorter drops, it will limit the impact DeSean Jackson can have for us.

We miss a ton in the run game. Trent is athletic enough to get out and lead block 15 yards downfield. Nsekhe just can't. We'll surely run right more often behind Scherff, which is a good way to live, but it's predictable.

It's a massive loss, don't kid yourself. Especially because of the small possibility that this gets Cousins injured on a blindside shot. Even if it doesn't, we will need the defense and special teams to step up. We need to generate turnovers, and we need to flip the field.

Re: Breaking: Trent Williams Suspended 4 Games

Maybe someone else can confirm but I'm pretty sure a 2nd positive test would have gotten him bounced for more than just 4 games, so maybe that's the logic behind skipping it instead?

Well there is no doubt he skipped on purpose so hopefully it will get reduced but I don't count on it especially since they are so tough on weed

Reading the NFL drug policy, Trent should have been out the program when he went 2 years without testing positive in stage 2.(which he was in back in 2011) So he basically started over as if he's never been tested positive before. That technically means that he had to have had 2 more positive tests to get BACK into stage 2 again, which is where we are at with him. If he tests positive again, it's going to be a 10 game suspension I believe. Him skipping it wouldn't have mattered.

A point of note. Even if federally legalize, that doesn't mean that the NFL has to do away with it's drug policy.
