Any job is better than the Skins, but if you want a crack at the NFL you take it. And if you aren’t currently coaching and your two offensive stars are just beginning their career on the same team that falls in the plus column.

Pass on Sweeney, SI wrote an article that painted his culture at Clemson as recruiting kids who are willing to accept JC as their lord and savior. Not sure that style would work in a pro locker room.

This isn’t an issue and most football players are black athletes from the south raised in a religious household...I don’t think it’s that big of an issue. Being religious isn’t a negative imo

I'm just not sure you can build a team culture that revolves around faith in a pro locker room. There are a ton of guys playing pro football for different reasons. Money and fame being one of them.

If he was a coach in the mold of Gibbs I wouldn't mind, Gibbs lead by example. Not sure Swinney does the same.

Edit: Here's the article by SI. Faith is the foundation of Clemson's program.

Problem is you had clowns like Vinny, Bruce and Dan messing with those guys.
Outside that trio of idiots Shanahan was 146-98 and Gibbs 124-60. Small sample in DC, but Shottenheimer was 192-118 elsewhere.

Re: Jay Gruden fired

January 9th, 2014 : Jay Gruden is hired as the Head Coach of the Redskins, with the hope of being able to help smoothen RG3’s development.
———————————————————————————

• (2/8) : 2014 : The Redskins go 4-12, Robert Griffin III regresses, team lacks in all phases. Jay Gruden reportedly prefers Cousins over RG3.

——————————————————————————— • (3/8) : 2015 : Jay Gruden announces Kirk Cousins as QB1 for 2015 season, overcomes 4-6 record to finish 9-7 and make playoffs for the first time since 2012. The Kirk Cousins contract dilemma commences.

——————————————————————————— • (4/8) : 2016 : Redskins take a step back despite fielding a top-5 offense in the NFL and fail to make the playoffs at 8-7-1. Kirk Cousins gets another franchise tag. ———————————————————————————

• (5/8) : Redskins regress on offense after losing Desean Jackson, Pierre Garηon and Sean McVay, and Kirk Cousins shortcomings become very much clear. Terrell Pryor busts and Redskins finish 7-9. Redskins let Kirk Cousins hit free agency and trade for Alex Smith. ——————————————————————————— •

(6/8) : 2018 : Redskins promising 6-3 start gets crushed by Alex Smith breaking his leg against the Texans, resulting in a 1-6 skid and a 7-9 finish. Redskins trade for Case Keenum and Draft Dwayne Haskins.

——————————————————————————— • (7/8) : 2019 : Journeyman QB Case Keenum is named the starter, along with Star Left Tackle Trent Williams holding out leads to the Redskins offense
underperforming. Defense also disappointingly under performs, leading to an eventual 0-5 record. Reports of a rift between the Redskins coaching staff and the front office over the selection of Dwayne Haskins emerges, along with a video displaying Jay Gruden behaving in an odd manner.

——————————————————————————— (8/8) : October 7th, 2019 : Jay Gruden is relieved of his duties.
(Final Record : 35-48-1)
