Sounds like Smith has been advocating for a name change for a while and both him and Schar have tried to sell shares prior but can't find buyers.

It is hard for me to see a force out of Dan Snyder. Perhaps if he decides to keep the name and Fed Ex, Nike and Pepsi stick to their financial boycott and it begins to have greater league impact. Bezos' is interesting based on that article not just because of his finances but because of his streaming service. Having a competent high profile owner in what should be a desirable market has to be appealing to the league.

Apparently most of Snyder's wealth is tied up in the team. If he's truly not on board with the name change and he's had enough, perhaps he'd consider a buyout.

I think this is the most plausible scenario. I wouldn't be surprised if he sold prior to the name change so his legacy isn't as the owner who changed the team's name.

The idea that Snyder would sell the team over a name change dispute is preposterous to me. He's a businessman for goodness sake!

Money talks and bullshit walks. That never changes. Now, that Walmart, Target, and Nike are going to drop Redskins gear and all of the other potential financial crises Snyder is facing, he finally seeing the light about the name. What a joke!

If he thinks changing the name is bad for business then he could certainly choose to weigh any offers that come his way. The name is all about business. You just said it, money talks.

I think him fighting a name change is the best way for him to get removed. Over the last few years he has started to affect other owners bottom line or even the NFL they will vote to remove him.

For the record I think the chance of Snyder selling is very slim to none, but we've seen crazier things happen. Never thought we'd be in the position to be changing the name. So who knows?

He has a 20 year track record of losing and he's the only constant in this era of futility. Just having him out as owner will bring back fans.
