Re: Washington Football Team

Adam S. "The Washington Football Team will continue the process of retiring the Redskins name and hopes to be entirely rid of it on physical and digital spaces in the next 50 days, by the Sept. 13 regular-season opener against the Eagles"

They will never mention the REDSKINS ever again , so for prior Super Bowls they'll just say the Washington FT won those... What a bunch of bitches

How is that going to work? Are they going to voiceover all the old NFL films? Or will they just never show any old game that has the Redskins in it?

Who knows man, what a damn joke and it's a shame.. So you are basically saying this is a brand new organization like what the OKC Thunder did for the NBA, They have no ties to the Sonics at all..

Virtue-signalling ESPN probably won't show any Redskins history.

They're petty like that.

There is zero chance the team will be remembered by ESPN

Re: Washington Football Team

No name change, we are the Washington Football Team. Established in 1932. Still in burgundy and gold. The team wants to get this right. It’s clean. Sharp. Classy

Julie Donaldson

Soooo does this mean this a permanent change? Sure seems like it

Not at all.

"There will be a website launched where fans can follow “The Journey”! Access to seeing signage change, weigh in on what you would like it to be. This will be a thorough, thoughtful, and inclusive process. Something to be proud of for the next Hundred points symbol years!"

Julie Donaldson

"The decision to use "Washington Football Team" for this season allows the franchise the ability to undertake an in-depth branding process to properly include player, alumni, fan, community, and sponsor input. To date, we have been pleased to see so many people putting forward their vision of what the new name and design should be on their social media channels and we look forward to including their feedback as this process progresses."

Yop.
I like the fact they're gonna allow us to give some insight.
Being completely left out of the process would have been yet another slap in the face.

You're right, but if they create a website allowing fans to voice their opinion like Julia Donaldson twitted, this thing is going to get stormed with Redwolves howls.
Not saying they'll necessarily listen, but wouldn't it be a smart marketing move ?

Re: Washington Football Team

I heard "Generals" being talked about earlier today on NFL Sirius XM channel. Forget who the commentator was but they said this was under serious consideration. Sorry, even if temporary, The Washington Football Team is a freakin' joke ugh.
