Re: What Position is Our Weakness

A player that was hurt and gave up one sack last year sounds like what our whole line needs to be (minus that whole hurt part!)

Samuels played well, and he is on the right track as far as I'm concerned.

As is it's a moot point because even if we wanted to we couldn't trade him. Too big of a contract.

Samuels is going to be a redskins for a long time whether you like it or not. We are financially tied to him at this point.

But with that being said he is a really good tackle, and does his job. We didnt have consistency in our online last year becuase of injuries and that is very important to them playing at a high level. This year with jansens return and a second year under bugles coaching they will be a more cohesive unit and one of the better units in the league.

I think our dline is our weakness. They dont get hardly any pressure. Griffin had a great year but most of our pressure didnt come from our dline and you cant be depending on linebackers and corners blitzing. As soon as they start to make a few big plays then the defense has to back off and cover more, which leaves the pressure up to our dline.

Re: What Position is Our Weakness

I wouldn't say it's a weakness per se, but I'm wondering who will step up as our "defensive QB"

One thing that was really great about Pierce last year was that, apart from excellent individual play, he did a great job leading that defense on the field-calling out audibles, telling his teammates where to be, etc. Who will assume that role this year? If Mike Barrow is in the middle I'm fully confident he can do it. But if it's not him can LeMar Marshall handle it, Holdman? Will Matt Bowen be the leader?
