Re: Ramsey and McCants
simply, Ramsey won more real games for us. its all about the wins, and if Brunell and Ramsey's roles were reversed last year, you can bet all this 'emotion' you say we have would be right out the window. if there was a better non-rookie QB on the roster, we'd all want him too. heck some of us want to see the rookie now.

just his presence on the field makes the safeties think twice about locking on Portis. the reason may be that they think they'll be able to pick him off, but either way he changes the character of the offense. it's good for our running game and that's our biggest strength. |

You tried to make the point that Ramsey won more games and wins are what matters... then all you can come back with is well he lost less? That's probably one of the weakest statements I've ever seen on this board. |

i see a lot of arguments basing preseason accomplishments over regular season games under fire on the board, there are weak arguments all around. lesser of two evils, who sucks less, unfortunately in our position, it all applies. |

I don't think I have ever looked more foward to a game than this Monday's. It gives me hope that the one track mind of this board lately will change. So tired of this argument.

Re: Ramsey and McCants
I think we're all talking too much doom 'n' gloom. Both Ramsey AND Brunell passed very well. The only difference is Ramsey threw a pick. Not saying I would prefer one over the other but there's far too much negativity on here when you look at just how well our offense played.
Brown is really the person who caused the score to be so close. He handed them a gift of a TD. The PI against Cooley was COMPLETE bullshit. So assuming we SHOULD have scored with Cooley the score should have been something like 16-0. Who's to say if Brown didn't fumble we wouldn't have driven right down the field and scored? In the second half we basically moved the ball at will.

Re: Ramsey and McCants
I know this thread concerns the QB's and McCants....but my brain hurts. I don't care who is taking the snaps.....I want to win.....and if Gibbs thinks this is the guy then I have to think this is best. I am concerned how we are going to beat Dallas as a team. Brunell or Ramsey can't do that on their own.....I myself think this whole QB thing is a wash.....Brunell/Ramsey although their game is different seem to produce the same thing.......so who cares who is saying "red 80" and "3" 40" and "go." I don't care anymore. I care about kicking the sh** out of Parcells and the cowgirls. I want to know how we as a team are going to do that.

Re: Ramsey and McCants
We are going to do it with mistake-free football.
I was rewatching my tape of the game and seriously both Brunell and Ramsey were very accurate, even Brunell from intermediate range. He took some shots downfield and all were very close. Taking shots downfield is how we got that PI call. Moss would have been in position for that ball had he not been interfered with. We just need to establish the tempo with Portis and even let Brunell pass to our sure handed receivers. That fake reverse was MONEY last game and I'd love to see that utilized more often. THAT'S the kind of play-calling I'd expect from Gibbs given the weapons he has at WR. Our defense I'm not worried about, we just need to do what we do. Only a fluke would have the Cowboys actually score some real points on us.

Re: Ramsey and McCants
You're acting like Vermeil just stumbled across Warner and that was instantly his saving grace.
He's won a game or two since moving on to KC, seems to me he knows what he's doing. |

Re: Ramsey and McCants
The biggest thing Vermeil found was Mike Martz, although he can leave you scratching your head as a head coach he was the cog that made that offense go, but he did hire him so he new something.

Re: Ramsey and McCants
I find it amazing that so many people outside the Redskins organization think they no better who should start for the Redskins than Joe Gibbs does. I know this is the kind of second guessing that fans do, but when you stop and think about it it's really pretty silly. Joe Gibbs is around Ramsey every single day...he puts way more into his decisions than just the things that we are able to see. I just can't believe that all that Gibbs has accomplished for the Washington Redskins has brought him such a small amount of leeway. Joe Gibbs is litterally the Knute Rockne or Vince Lombardi of the Redskins...just about every significant win this franchies has ever had was under his watch yet after only 17 games he is being thrown under the bus over the benching of a QB that has shown only minimal improvement in 3 years. Honestly, I thought Redskins fans were better than this.

I hope you don't take this the wrong way but when Joe Gibbs was in his heyday you were much to young to have any emotional attachment to him. I grew up loving Joe Gibbs. I think that is the major difference of opinion on this website when it comes to gibbs. The members in their 30's or older who remember the good days are much more patient with the current Gibbs era, whereas the fans in thier 20's have no emotional attachment to Gibbs and just want results imediately. I am not saying that's necessarily wrong either. I just personally believe that Gibbs is going to turn this around eventually and I am not going to throw him under the bus over the benching of one average player for another.
