Re: Who's a Better Coach: Gibbs or Schottenheimer?
Skinsguy -- Jacobs stepped up in the #2 receiver role with 4 catches for 44 yards. They spread the ball around nicely. That may be more than Patten has ever gotten. Rock should have gotten more touches, but made it count when he had to.
Fact of the matter is our defense cant put up points and we need our offesne to do that.

Re: Who's a Better Coach: Gibbs or Schottenheimer?
What more can you ask of you defense than intercepting the ball at the 30 in the final 2 minutes so you can have a last second chance? I guess you could ask the defense to old the opposing teams to under 20, which they did through 4 quarters.

To not allow LT to run at will when it counts the most to stop him. To not cause stupid mistakes. If we're saying that this team has to score 40 points a ball game to win, then that just means you're covering up a defense that is at best average.

All we had to do is not cause a stupid holding penality. We were in field goal range already.

Who said anything about the defense forcing the offense to score 40 points? How about 1 stinking point in the second half? Had they scored just 18 points in regulation we would have won the game. Both sides of the ball need serious fixing. |

The Defence made more Stop plays than the Offence made Go plays.

Sure, the defense does have problems. Can't use just the 4 down lineman to make pressure. Don't have the depth at Corner they use to. But, to blame this game on the defense? How?

At this point, Marty is better because his team has won four in a row and is in a better position to make the playoffs. Gibbs always will be remembered as one of the best of all time. But his return to coaching will be looked at as a failure.

Re: Who's a Better Coach: Gibbs or Schottenheimer?
The game shouldn't have ever gotten to that point. That interception was a big ass present i would think. Every good team in the NFL would take advantage of that. Every team that has a "decent" offense. Even with the 10 yard penalty, there was two more downs to make up for the misque.

Re: Who's a Better Coach: Gibbs or Schottenheimer?
How dare Brunell for throwing those balls away. How dare Brunell to take a gift horse in the mouth of the ball on the 30 and choking to give the ball back. How dare Brunell with all those 3 and outs that put our team in such a crappy situation.
I saw the "D" miss a few plays but also play like beasts while our O got flags, made NO yards and very little points. SD scores an average of 30 points a game on ALL teams. Our D stopped them at Less and our O could not meet the challenge. The loss is in the O's lap in my opinion
