Another solid candidate imo, has coordinated some decent defenses in both New York and Buffalo, and was with Baltimore for several years as an assistant before that. But one thing to note when you look at his rankings, all four years as a coordinator were under Rex Ryan

Agreed, I would be fine with this hire

Does he have any connections with the other DC candidates? Rob Ryan for instance?

Re: The coordinators

Thurman and Mike Pettine have a long history together. Both were hired by Baltimore in 2002, Thurman as a "defensive assistant" and Pettine as "coaching and video assistant." Thurman eventually moved to coaching their secondary until he was hired by New York Jets in 2008 for the same position. Pettine was promoted to outside linebackers coach, and then in 2009 also left Baltimore for New York to become the defensive coordinator under Rex Ryan. Pettine kept Thurman as his secondary coach. Sidenote, when Pettine was hired by the Browns, Rex promoted Thurman to defensive coordinator

Rob Ryan and Thurman were together in Buffalo last year, thats all I could find

Bradley and Manusky have no history with Thurman as far as I know

Ah, a connection with Pettine. Now, I'm starting to like this. We do need a secondary coach I believe as well.

As far as OC and Callahan:

“Bill has never been happier in his life,” said Bob LaMonte, Callahan’s agent. What Callahan is doing now is coaching the Redskins’ offensive line and helping in the running game planning. He is well known for keeping the linemen out well after practice ends, schooling them on various techniques and details of their craft.

Also here's a good wrap-up on our list of candidates and it makes a solid argument against Dennis Thurman. I'd rather have Pettine over Thurman.

That's a very good summary. I still like Bradley or Pettine. I trust that Scot will bring in plenty of talent this year to help any DC succeed.

I agree. I'm hoping these further interviews are them trying to get an idea on a potential staff if they sign Bradley or Pettine.

That's what it's looking like to me. Maybe the top candidates had mentioned in their interviews who they would want on their coaching staff, so the team is going back through and interviewing the names they've mentioned. That makes a lot of sense. Hopefully we're heading down the home stretch on this.

If he had anything to do with the debacle that was our secondary, we won't miss him anyways.
