He may very well be. But in order to give a fair evaluation of his play he has to actually get on the field and stay there. Once he does that then he's going to have to compete and not live off of 1st round draft pick status.

Sometimes you can't and have to follow your gut, Djax is not doing it for me. He bitches when he doesn't get the ball, he was bitching at Cousins at one point today despite Cousins trying to make him the featured WR. I thiught Jenkins got the best of Jackson today. Jackson might be fast but isn't physical imposing, like Doctson who will be just fine.

I actually want to see Doctson on the field before I'm willing to let Jackson walk. And let him not walk back to Philly. That could be a mistake.

Just remember Philly let Jackson go during his athletic prime mostly because of his attitude and there were concerns over his character.

In the last 4 weeks (our streak) kirk has 8 tds to 3ints and is much better in the RZ.. I'll take those numbers over a four game span. His ints will drop soon too.

Did you guys hear what Gruden said? Cousins confidence is being affected by the media and the fans?! I PRAY that's not true.

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread

Yeah, I heard that too. One of the knocks on him over the last couple years has been that, once he throws an INT, he gets too caught up in the mistake. I don't think he's thin skinned or a hot-house flower who needs to be patted on the back to thrive. Rather, I think it's more he's trying so hard to be perfect that he dwells on the bad and doesn't move past it.

Maybe he was pressing to live up to expectations or trying to prove doubters wrong. Whatever the reason, he seemed to get past it yesterday and was much more decisive on his throws. I remember watching one replay where Garcon hadn't even come out of the break and the ball was in the air; PG breaks in and catches it midstride ~20 yards downfield. Good stuff.

Tha's the part I worry about too.

And agreed. This is a win you can build on. He made plays when he had to and threw the ball away (except one stupid decision) when nothing was there.

He was cut by a big asshole named Chip Kelly who thought he could impose his weird ideas on Pro Bowl players in a dictatorial fashion. He cut or traded several Pro Bowl players who wouldn't go along with his stupid program at the same time he cut DJax. Chip assumed that he could win without them. He was wrong and he got fired because of it.

Now, Chip is busy wrecking the 49'ers. He will surely be fired there, too. The "character concerns" you mentioned were a slanderous attempt by Kelly to justify his own stupid actions.

I hope this helps you to better understand what really happened to DJax in Philly.

Jackson didnt bitch at KC on the sidelines or anything, it was immediately after a play and he just sort of threw his hands up like "wtf i was open"? Good. He cares. He doesn't throw tantrums on the sidelines or sit and mope on the bench. He is a team player.
As far as football goes - ok he dropped one. Doesn't do it often. Plus, he takes the top off the D. It should be a stat.

All I was saying is if I had choice between Garcon and Djax, Garcon would be my choice. Let's not forget Djax in the playoffs and some of his selfish antics.

Philly let Jackson go because he outshined Chip Kelly, and for no other reason.

The Eagles needed D Jax more yesterday than we did. Someone that can stretch the field and open up coverage.

Garcon and Reed benefit a lot from just DJax presence on the field.

Excellent point -- I completely agree. Let's be honest -- if there were no salary cap ramifications, I don't think anyone would be talking about letting DJax (or Garcon, for that matter) go. They're both playmakers and have proved to be good teammates in DC. DJax has been hampered by Kirk's accuracy issues with the deep ball this season (Kirk should probably have another 5 TDs or so), and as the fly route is DJax's bread and butter, it will obviously affect him more than anyone else.

The Lions can be thrown on (and run on too, for that matter). Let's see what happens this week.

To that end, while celebrating yesterday's win is great, no one should look past the Lions. Their offense is humming, and they beat the Eagles, put up a bunch of points on a good Rams D, and nearly beat the Packers in Lambeau (although that isn't looking like the challenge it once was). Now they also lost to the Bears and Titans, and barely beat a pretty weak Colts team, so they're obviously a pretty flawed team. But no one should look past them because any given Sunday (or Monday, or Thursday)....
