Re: Mega-Merge: 2010 Free Agency Rumors and Reports Thread

Sounds like we've lost Peppers, but Dansby sounds like a strong possibility:

Quote:
Karlos Dansby

Free agent Karlos Dansby indicated in an ESPN interview early Friday that the Redskins are not out of the mix to sign him.

"Washington is definitely a place I'm looking at," he said. "My gate is wide open right now. I'm going to take every visit." ESPN's Adam Schefter and SI's Peter King both report that Washington is taking a wait-and-see approach in the first wave of free agency. It's possible that Dansby is using the Skins idea to boost his market because Dan Snyder is usually so aggressive.

Yay, LT Chad Clifton should be a Redskin by the end of the day Anything is better than what we use to have.

I agree...upgrade, but will this mean we're not drafting a LT with #4?

My guess is "not necessarily." We'll need more than Clifton, anyway, and perhaps the plan is still to draft a rookie and let him get his sea legs behind Clifton for a while. Then they switch and Clifton becomes a RT or a valuable back-up. Just a guess. We do need more than one tackle.

I doubt it, if the front office had any faith in JC they'd draft an O-lineman. Since they don't, they're going to aggressively pursue a QB as we did last year IMO.

If they didn't have faith in him, he'd be tendered at a lower price and probably traded by now.

I think Shanahan is going to use Campbell in his plans, at least for this year.

Fred Smoot: I went to four redskin games two earlier in your career at Washington and when you came back. Each time you showed love to the fans in the stands, while Darrel Green snubbed his nose and walked right on by. And you were the same guy at the last two games. Thanks

Rock Cartright: Thanks, tough guy, solid special teamer, seemed like a good teamate and very coachable.

Antwan Randell El: Always said the right things, it just didnt work out. (did he ever return a punt for a TD as a Redskin?)

Todd Collins: Ill never forget "THE PLAYOFF RUN" and the Famed "COllins to Yoder Combination" against da bears!! You my friend are a true professional!

Randy Thomas: Injuries just kept him from being a beast. Man but when you pulled around and led Betts on the sweep against the cowgirls and Betts hit Terrence Newman right square in the back!!!! I loved it, Parcells thought otherwise.lmao

Laddell Betts: Ran as hard as any back, i liked you so much it really hurt me to curse you everytime you fumbled. sometimes

Loved all those guys, nice summary.

ARE returned a punt v. Indy in 06 for a td, I believe that was his only one.

ONE, in 2006.

I was SO excited when we signed him too, he was a completely different player in Pittsburgh and was a wrecking ball at Indiana...I'm not sure what happened when he arrived here. Great personality...loved him as a person, not as a player though. Same sentiment for Smoot too.

why can't i find any stats for Clifton for 2009? ESPN's player page search doesn't find him, wiki has no stats, and ProReference seems to stop at 2008?

weird.

Because he's an offensive lineman.

It IS funny that he's wearing a jersey without numbers for his photo here:

Chad Clifton

I'm just saying that for example: pro-Football reference lists every year for him except 2009:
Chad Clifton ProFootball Reference

What stats are you looking for on an offensive lineman?

games played. I thought I heard he was injured last year, and just wondered how many games he may have missed.
