2 yrs, 2 mil per. Sounds reasonable. It does nothing to address the FS spot though. |

They are just about out of money until they cut someone- money must be saved for draft choices, and IR players

Yes. We still need a free safety. Before today, however, we needed both.

Seems to be a good deal for both parties, even without knowing the particulars of the deal. It's a great opportunity for Johnson to make a name for himself as a starting safety in this league. Johnson backed up the FS position, as well, so it remains to be seen how he'll be used. If the Skins sign Mays, you can bet that Johnson will play FS. If they don't sign Mays, then DHall or Amerson could be moved to free safety. I feel confident that the coaches will figure it all out.

Follow-up note, in his one career start, JJ led the team in tackles.
Watch New York Giants vs. Seattle Seahawks [11/09/2014] - NFL.com (Looked it up after noted by someone on twitter). JoeRedskin gives this signing his official seal of approval.

Re: Who should we go for in Free Agency?
Yes, but they have a couple of guys who are practically begging to be cut based on their mediocre play versus their salaries. Plus the Skins could restructure a couple of contracts.

Re: Who should we go for in Free Agency?
YES.... i LOVE the J Johnson signing..and at a very reasonable price. I would give the FA an "A" so far with their dealings in FA given what was available with the funds they had..They still need to sign a FS a d possibly a TE (Gresham) the use the draft to address RT, OLB, ILB, and RB..

I think this shows that we won't be drafting Collins in the first round.

Projected Cap Space for all 2015 NFL Teams | Spotrac Research Per Schneed, pre-JJ signing we have ~12.7M in space. Cuttting Chester, Paulsen and Porter creates another 7.1M (See OP in 2015 salary cap thread). If TW and RK get extended, even more space. We are fine.
