Re: Adam Archuleta
Right. Speaking of Archuleta, I HAVE been hard on him, but I was reading that article about Holdman and he was saying how he took a year in the system to stop "thinking" and just start reacting.

Re: Adam Archuleta
i understand holdman isn't an MLB, but when pierce was here, marshall played OLB much better than holdman, and because pierce is gone, holdman is starting.
and while he might have decent stats so far, this LB line up isn't nearly as good as the one we had two years ago. I didn't think that needed to be articulated in such detail, but i was wrong and i apologize. |

Re: Adam Archuleta
I think the Redskins signed Adam Archuleta to a high price tag and let Ryan Clark and Walt Harris (who has been solid in SF) go for one main reason. I think at the end of last year they were not too sure if Taylor was going to come out of that entire legal situation without jail time, so they felt pressured into signing Archuleta as a back up plan and paid him way too much. They felt comfortable in Springs and Rogers and unfortunately Springs got hurt and Rogers was forced into a #1 role that he wasn't ready for and may never be. Add to this situation Pierson P blowing his knee out making a bad situation worse.

Re: Adam Archuleta
You are dead wrong Matty! All players acquired by FA in the past have either stepped from day one or were busts. There is simply no adjustment period at all, period. If you're not playing good at the beginning then you NEVER will. That's one of the few guarantees in life.

Re: Adam Archuleta
Williams has stated that he had his eye on Arch for a long time.
I know it might be hard to believe, but he just might pan out if we give him more than a few games to show his stuff. Williams tends to know what he's doing when it comes to picking his players. The benefit of the doubt has to go his way. |

Whether it's AA or Carter or letting Clark go it all falls on Williams' shoulders at the end of the day. I highly doubt Mr. Snyder forced these guys onto Williams, it was probably the exact opposite. Danny probably offered to add a few guys to help out the D and these are the guys that Williams thought would make the biggest improvement. Whether he's right or wrong remains to be seen in the long run, but let's put the blame (or credit) where it belongs. |

Re: Adam Archuleta
I agree. People dont realize just how damaging that was to lose him, and on the VERY 1st play of the year too. He also brought corner depth as well.

Re: Adam Archuleta
If having Pierce is so great why are the Giants are ranked 27th in the league this year in total defense, whereas the Redskins (w/o Pierce) are ranked 15th. He's a very good LB but he's starting to look more like just another product of GW's system since Marshal is putting up similiar stats that Pierce did in 2004 through the first three games.

Re: Adam Archuleta
I didn't say that Marshall wasn't a product of GW's system.
