Re: Rex Grossman the whipping boy
Well geez....the guy is playing in his first full season, leads the Bears to the best record in the league...helps to get them to the Super Bowl...you all know that we'd love to have had our team in the same exact situation. I don't believe Grossman is a very strong QB, but he is young in his career.
Look at John Elway. He lost three Super Bowls in a row by large margins, and there were trade rumors not too long after that...yet he finished his career with 2 super bowl wins. While I felt Grossman was a large reason why the Bears lost the super bowl, I think a lot of the piling on is very much knee-jerk reactions from those who have no patience to understand player development.

Lots of good points, but let's face facts here. Rex sucks. Yes, he did have 5 games this year with 100 or better QB rating. He also had 6 games of a less that 50 QB rating and stats like these: 4/22 12yds 4 int WTF is that? Rex is a chump. At times, he seems like he is in total control and could be a friggin Pro-Bowler. But then there are those times, and Bears' fans KNOW what I mean, Those times where he is CLUELESS! He has no type of field awareness as to where the ball is AFTER he throws it 15 yds BEHIND him in the face of 1 blitzer. He has no type of aim sometimes its just terrible. he looks like he just closes his eyes and tries to do the best Sammy Baugh impression he can muster. Rex is terrible. If CHI had won the SB, I would have thrown up. Rex makes me sick. He only played good when the D was healthy and that led to his numbers being outstanding. What happened when their D slouched and had a few injuries? He got friggin buried beneath a pile of his own delusions of grandueur'. Yes, I think Grossman has the POTENTIAL to be good, maybe great in his own right, but GODDAM THAT BOY NEEDS HELP! Anyone see the SB pre crap @ like noon that day? They had clips of BEARS fans telling him he was a bum, SCREAMING it at him when he came out of the tunnel a few times. The potential is there. The kid has an arm, I'll give that to him. He can sling it with the best of em, but he can also pull a Brett Farve so friggin quick it'll make your head spin, and I dont mean Farve in a good way. In short, Rex is bad. He will start next year because Lovie really doesnt have too much of an option does he? Bench the QB who was there for your SB run for Griese? I dont ****ing think so! Rex needs a LOT of fine tuning in the offseason. I think you are totally right with the Patrick Ramsey comparison. Give him a while. If he's still playing like a rook 2 seasons from now, pull a Donald Trump on that ass... YOURE FIRED! HTTR!

Ok....good point. I'll give Rex that one but I think him turning into Mark Brunell in the middle of the SB wasnt his best move. And yes, all QB topics EVENTUALLY lead to Mark Brunell. At some point. This case especially. I mean, come on, we all saw what happened. I think it was stated before but a Rex and Brunell combo. MaRex BruGrossman? ahahah....
