ps- there were better options for ROY, but for some reason the media has exhaulted VY.
Bout time someone else sees it from my POV!

Well don't forget the 5 rushing TDs as well, and the fact taht under Young the Titans won 5 games in a row (when many didn't even pick them to win 5 all year)

But I think that a lot of the Vince Young "haters" here think that the rest of us have anointed him the heir apparent to great QBs. I can tell you, from my perspective, that's not the case. We're just saying he had a pretty solid rookie year, helped the Titans significantly overachieve, looks to be an exciting and marketable player for years to come and should only get better. Was he the best choice to be on the cover? Probably not, but it's not a bad choice

Ok, point taken good football player, but a terrible QB.

FYI, I know this hurts my point, but it was 7 rushing tds.

It was a team effort, and while Vince's LEGS helped acheive that, his arm didn't help too much at all. He's the next Kordell Stewart. Flashy, and can win with his legs, but when push comes to shove, won't amount to much. I hope he follows the path of McNabb, not Vick. If he follows McNabb, he could be something special...but right now, he's a terrible QB with exceptional scrambling ability.

I don't think the only descriptions of Vince Young have to be terrible or great. Those seem like two extremes that don't really describe him.

Re: Vince Young Madden 2008 Cover

The hate for VY is because he's getting so much press and he wasn't even that great during his rookie season. True, he did make some plays that won games, i.e. his touchdown run against the Texans in overtime last year, but his stats as a quarterback don't reflect that. Plus the defense was more of a factor in the games they won.

It's like the hate for Michael Vick when he made the Pro Bowl after throwing 12 touchdowns and 13 interceptions two seasons ago. I did hear that they wanted to put L.T. on the cover, but L.T. said no lol.
