I was at the Lions game and I can't tell you how many assholes around me were more focused on drinking and trips to god only knows where than they were watching the Skins put on a hell of a performance. I think I pulled a freaking muscle getting up and down out of my seat so people could constantly get through.
We are a race? That explains so much. I'm tired of "The Man" always trying to stick it to us.

(Yeah, I know. I set that one up.)

HILARIOUS!

Now I know why you've become a crowd favorite here.

The music, I'm torn. It is supposed to get the crowd hyped, which in turn is supposed to get the players hyped. But it only works if the crowd and players have different tastes, and since all 11 starters on defense are black I'm going to guess that hip hop is a safe choice to get the defense hype. I get the point, and I agree, variety is the spice of life. THis thread does seem a little ticky-tack, kinda like "Cindy Crawford is fine, but what about that mole!" We're 3-1, if they have to play Soulja Boy on a nonstop loop to get a win, so be it.

Personally, I'd rather see the players dancing to Soulja Boy than the crowd dancing at all.

BTW, I was at Fedex on Sunday and LOVED the "We want Dallas" chant that got cranked up at the end of the game.

Look at what this song is doing to our fans. They're either board out of their minds or they end up acting like idiots. No more gangsta rap, just stick to mainstream hip-hop, modern rock, and classics like Phil Collins (Hell I'd rather listen to emo then soulja boy).
YouTube - Redskins Soulja Boy

Thats the great thing about soccer in Europe. They don't play music during the game, instead ALL THE FANS chant. Thats how you accomodate everyone.
YouTube - Manchester United chant vs. Charlton

Re: Redskins Stadium music

How'd you get that video of me?!?!

j/k

What happens if people hate classic rock and mainstream hip hop? Should they crank country music (vomit) or pump some house BS throughout?
You can't please everyone!

Well they did play John Denver's "Thank God, I'm a Country Boy" during the 7th inning stretch at the O's game. And I hate country. But I've heard that damn song so many times, I can't help but like it. :P

As for Soulja Boy.. I don't think I'll ever like that song.

I haven't been to a Skins game, is there any other music there that they overplay?

Re: Redskins Stadium music

Also, if you've ever been to a game you'd know that they do play bands like AC/DC throughout the game. They pretty much only play stuff like Soulja Boy or that dumb Walk It Out song during timeouts when the D is on the field.

Would you rather they play YMCA or Carwash so that all the little kids and old people can dance like they do at baseball games?

Hah! Something tells me that Sean Taylor, Carlos Rogers, and Marcus Washington wouldn't be youtubed dancing during a commercial break to YMCA.

Re: Redskins Stadium music

First of all, I like a lot of music from the 60's and 70's.

Second, I didn't mean to mock old people dancing, per se. I love to see everyone (except the people rooting for the opposing team) having a great time at FedEx.
Basically, what I meant was that I don't really understand what djdunick wants to hear at games. It's like he wants it to be a god damn dance party in the stands and he doesn't care that the players like to hear certain songs IN THEIR OWN STADIUM because it gets them pumped up to play better.

God please, Absolutely not I get enough of that stuff when I DJ parties and bars.

Just some fun stuff that the crowd can get into.

PS. Again we really don't care about what the players want to hear, the point is to get the crowd revved up to help the players. Just take a listen to what other stadiums play and you'll get my drift.

Can we get some BL's album on the speakers. Atleast then, he'll be worth something.
