ROFLMAO. Thats funny right there I don't care who you are. lol.

Your right. He started his own tree and it died with the OL coach when he went to the Cards. lol. I used to think Gibbs was the one making the game plan and making it happen. Now I'm wondering if it was not the offensive co ordinator who was doing all that.

Honestly I think there are several Don Coryell coaches. Gibbs was one. Bill Walsh did have a stint in San Diego with Coryell. The wonderful Al Davis of the Raiders. Saunders. Mike Martz. Norv Turner. Zampeese. and who knows how many countless assistance coaches learned it or worked under it.

Dan Henning, who's back with the Dolphins. Cam Cameron should fall under the Norv tree not Marty Tree, Jason Garrett, Ken Whisenhunt.

ee/connection with Fassel.
This coaching tree is eschewed. Holmgren, Seifert, Green, Rhodes and Paul Hackett were assistants with the 49ers in the 80's, Billick was like a water boy with them in the late 70's early 80's. Fassel assisted Walsh at Stanford, Jeff Fisher should fall under the Ditka tree sinc e he worked for him first, same for Shanahan and Kubiak under the Dan Reeves tree. Del Rio should under Jimmie Johnson, Tice under Gibbs, etc. Walsh gets too much credit for an offense created by PAUL BROWN!!

So Mooch is still in the running? Please don't toy with my emotions...lol! Geez...I'm all for Snyder being thorough with this, but I think he's hired just about every living available coach, with the exception of Bill Cowher of course (I'm not even considering Brain Billick.)

edited...I meant to say I think he's interviewed just about every coach that is available. Maybe Offiss is next on the interview list?

I pretty much only trust JLC on these kinds of things. ESPN doesn't really seem to ever be right when it comes to the Skins. At least that's the way it seems to me.

One of these days, SS is going to have a Chris Berman moment of his own.

SFR: I totally agree with you on Walsh getting to much credit. I belive some may even be defensive coaches but they listed them due to them having been associated with someone running the WC offense. I also stated earlier that "if Wikipedia" is correct. because we all know people like to add or change things on there. lol..

On this tree descendant business the coach should fall to where he started his coaching career as an assistant. The media loves to give Walsh "the genius" crown when in reality Gibbs was a better coach. If Gibbs would have been fortunate to have one QB like Montana or Simms, god knows how many SB he would have won. The Coryell system kicks the Paul Brown/West Coast system ASS!!

Saunders' system was hampered here because of shared philosophy with the HC. Any system with too much volume will struggle, but when it's crossed with conflicting concepts that only serves to compound the problem.
