Re: Romo out 4 Weeks
I wish I was more happy about romo being out, but they have so many weapons that I am not sure their offense will suffer too much with Brad in there for awhile. As long as he has the time he will keep the offense moving. But I'd rather see them without Romo then with him.

Re: Romo out 4 Weeks
The time off will probably be great for Tony Romo's game, although certainly it hurts the Boys in the short term.

Re: Romo out 4 Weeks
Watching Brad Johnson play QB is like watching paint dry. All he's going to do is dink and dunk. And while he'll cut down on the turnovers, the playmaking ability that Romo gives them goes out the window.

Re: Romo out 4 Weeks
While Brad Johnson has a noodle arm, he's a smart QB. This is going to open things up in the middle of the field for the Cowboys. Watch for TO or Crayton in the slot, and Witten over the middle to see a ton more looks. TO will stop whining for a few weeks because with Romo out, Johnson will have no choice but to get the ball to TO if they are going to be successful.
Plus with no Felix Jones, Tashard Choice is going to get a chance to relief Barber, who is going to see plenty of more carries.

If Johnson shakes off the rust, I think he will bring the cowboys a sense of professionalism that is missing.

Someone made a great comparison to the Pats of the mid 1990s, after Parcells left, when they hired a players coach in Pete Carroll. What happened afterward was a team that showed a lack of discipline, committing dumb penalties. Larry Brown on the Cowboys postgame show made a great point. When he was playing, especially under Jimmy, they took pride in not making mistakes. To make mistakes was to jeopardize your position on the team. That doesn't seem to truly matter right now. I mean, if Wade Phillips wanted to cut a player right now, would he just be able to tell Jerry to do it and everything would be OK? I highly doubt it. All this being said, they are still 4-2, and these next three games are all winnable. If they can bond together as a team and truly play as one, this injury could be a blessing in disguise. Or, the whole damn thing could implode. I'm sure you Redskin fans would HATE to see that happen. ![]() |

Re: Romo out 4 Weeks
I think what this proves is that Zorn (or Gibbs for that matter) can stress ball security all they want, but if the QB's arm is hit, or a helmet hits the ball squarely, it's still going to come out.
What hasn't happened yet is that Jason Campbell hasn't thrown a ball into coverage that he shouldn't have thrown. And that's a huge advantage we have over other teams. Because teams that play us are throwing very interceptable balls, and if that trend continues we will dominate the turnover margin this season.
