How long do you all think Marko Mitchell would last if we went crazy and put him on the practice squad? Make them have no choice but to play you Lanky!

The defense didn't really play that well. Letting Springs go may have been a bad decision, but he wouldn't budge on restructuring his contract last year. What impressed me most about previous Redskins teams was the fact that guys would almost line up to restructure their contracts if it would help the team.

Just hope they give Chase some big time against the Jags. I think it would be wrong to just dump the guy onto the practice squad and maybe lose him. JC is the man, but Collins isn't going to last more than another season or two tops.

Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Preseason Week 3)

Wow, I have not gotten past the first page. Between last week and this week I've heard nothing but positives about Marcus Mason. Hmmm, not to toote my own horn but....I told you so Where are all the "He won't make it in this league," "He can't pass block," " He's only good against second stringers" people?

Shhhhhhhhhhhh. You don't have to say a word.

I should make my list again:

QB; JC, Colt, Chase.
RB; Portis, Mason, Alridge or Dorsey.
WR; Moss, Kelly, ARE, Thomas, Mitchell.

I'd keep Wilson and find someone else to let go.
Let Westbrooke and Tryon go unless we need them.

I said it once and will say it again. ..Colt is a good QB if you are looking for someone like a Bret Favre. Somoeone who will take chances with the ball down the field but will also have interceptions.

Honestly though I'm glad Mason is stepping up finally. also like the speed backs we have. With one of them and Thomas being able to KR/PR Rock is expendable and now maybe Betts also. I like Betts but if we are looking for Portis's replacement for the future, someone he can help develope then I think Mason is it.

Colt doesn't have the arm to be worth called anything close to Favre or 'like Brett Favre'.

I think you will find a few similarities, He throws side arm, He takes chances with the ball.

When Bret was drafted by the Falcons they tried to change his throwing motion and decided he was terrible and traded him to the Packers. The Pack allowed him to throw however he wanted but Holmgren taught him the WCO and allowed him to have his mistakes in order to get better.

I'm in no way saying Colt is Bret now. Just saying he could be almost as good as Bret someday. My choice of QB's for the Skins in order would be JC, Daniel, Brennan. Only cause I like how Chase looks comfortable, his poise, his decisiveness, his quickness to get the ball off, and he can scramble.

That's probably a Walsh thing to not directly tamper with throwing motions in order to 'fix' them them and instead focus more on the footwork, how to drop back on certain plays, where on the receiver's body to throw it to, etc.

I meant arm strength. Brett could get away with taking and chances since he zip it in before the defender gets to the ball because he had a big arm to unleash the ball with high velocity along with his other talents.

Colt may become as good as Brett--I find it unlikely, although he may become as sucessful as him in a offense that plays to his strengths, although he has to realize his arm strength is not one of them--, but it will not be with Favre/Cutler's playstyle in full at the very least because he doesn't have one of the things that is needed to avoid the bad consequences that comes with it often enough.

We will see about Brennan vs Daniel against the Jags. Should be interesting to say the least. If Coach doesn't put in Chase, that is just going to piss me off. We got a steal in Marko it seems and might get a steal in Daniel if he plays like he did against the Steelers.

As far as CB goes apparently Zorn sees something in him. You know Zorn....the QB guru. Mitchell made a good adjustment on his TD catch.

The same QB guru who has said: (1) that neither Colt nor Chase are threatening Collins, let alone Campbell; and (2) that Colt is going to have to fight off an UFA for the 3rd string QB.

True. My point is Zorn drafted him last year and at this point in time he's still on the team, even after the first cuts, so he sees something in Brennan. If not, I doubt he'd waste a roster spot on him this long.

Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Preseason Week 3)

It's about equal to the time and effort spent last year on the 5th CB spot (torrence v. tryon).
