Re: Who for GM
I'm still sold on Dungy coming in and taking one of the jobs either GM or coach, he would instantly bring this team back from the current brink of Raideritude

I haven't seen anything which suggests he could excel at personnel decision-making, or drafting. Same goes for Mike Holmgren and Marty Schottenheimer. I'd like to know where the idea got started that great coaches are automatically going to be great general managers. |

Re: Who for GM
^Not only that Smoot but I'd rather have a proven GM who is good at his job but I imagine unless we throw the bank at them they won't leave their current team. Which means we are taking chances on someone who has no experience. I'd rather have a someone who knows and is proven to be able to build a team with talent. I could stomach Holmgren, but I'd rather have Schottenheimer. Only cause he has been here and knows what to expect and will put DS in his place if he tries to meddle.
Mostly I want a GM and HC who are on page with each other and know what type of players best fits the system they are trying to impliment. I believe part of our problems lie with VC having been more of a WC personel type and having Norv, Schottenhiemer, Spurrier, and Gibbs2 did not bode well together. We are finally running a WC style offense with non WC style players. Most likely given time things could turn around but Zorn has not shown me anything that would lead me to believe he has what it takes. Perhaps part of it is cause he started out bad with the whole "Red, Black, and Yellow." It pointed out to me he obviously can't do a little homework on the internet. Oh I got excited when we were 6-2, but after it showed he can't conform to the talent he has. He reminds me of Surrier who basically said this is my offense run it. I understand injuries make it difficult but a great coach will learn quickly to tailor their scheme to fit their talent, ie; Gibbs1 when he went 0-5 and changed up his offense and went 8-8, Schottenhiemer who changed up after starting out bad and going 8-8. Zorn would prefer to stay the course with his offense and force a round peg into a squar hole, then say it's all about exicution. |

Re: Who for GM
I'm sorry Ek, but as Angry's assistant general manger of player development and managerial indecent behavior, I'll actually be in the box with him. Thank you for your interest in joining us there though.

Dungy also had interesting comments on Tim Tebow. Dungy loves winners. He thinks Charlie Ward would have been a great NFL quarterback because he won at every level. Dungy said that Tebow is like that. He just wins, and that will translate to the NFL. Dungy said if he ran St. Louis, he'd draft Tebow high in the first round. "Franchise quarterbacks are hard to fine, and I believe in this guy," Dungy said. Dan asked Dungy if Sam Bradford, Colt McCoy, Jake Locker and Jimmy Clausen were available, would he take Tebow over all of them. Dungy said yes, he'd take Tebow. Re: Who for GM
Yeah and then he'll bring the whole family, his son and brother. I'm sorry, but what has he done as far as winning a playoff game or even a SB to deserve such title with the Washington Redskins (this ain't Cleveland). If it was between Holmgren and Shottenheimer, I take Holmgren hands down, a proven winner all around. Heck, I would even take Marv "grandpa" Levy.
