PS If the Skins come out and hire Shanahan over the weekend, I'll eat my words, apologize to you guys, and let you say I told ya so 1000 times over.

I'm betting it's true but out of respect for Zorn the FO is waiting until the season's over to announce this.

Re: Report: Shanahan to DC done deal
y r people getting their hopes up...this is classic Snyder, bring in a big name coach and the team ends up going 6-10...Norv Turner, Schottenheimer, Spurrier a ringin' a bell? Let's rein in the optimism...when snyder stops pulling this s***, then Ill have hope

. . . it's just off by about 180 degrees. If Zorn is replaced before the end of the season, I will lose a lot of the goodwill towards the front office that was built over the last 48 hours. The team is playing well; let the guy finish out the season with some dignity. |

Re: Report: Shanahan to DC done deal
if the skins do get shanny does that help or hurt clintons chances of remaining on the team? under shanny clinton was awesome but he was also traded away by shanny.

Build a good O-line, design a good scheme that makes holes and pick any decent running back; they will do good. Don't pay them crazy money, don't be afraid to bench one even if he's running well and don't be afraid to trade one for a commodity that is ACTUALLY extremely rare and valuable (a shut down corner) I think with a few exceptions (such as a Sanders, a Bo Jackson, a Sweetness, a Jim Brown) and Portis isn't one of those, that good running backs grow on trees... Don't agree? look as Mendenhall and Parker before him (They are sitting Parker now so he knows why he wont get a huge contract; and why should he if a rookie can run as well?)... Look at Shanahan post Portis (there's enough grist for the mill just with Shanahan for the last few years)... Now look at Knowshon Moreano; Corell Buckhalter looks just as good in the same system... They often split carries. In fact any number of teams that have had injuries or running back committees... Jamal Lewis replaced by Harrison and then Jennings for the Browns in the last game, all ran well... Glen Coffee ran just as well as Gore when he was injured in San Fran... Hell Portis then Betts then Cartwright, then Ganther ... I could go on. Good Running backs grow on trees, and shouldn't be overpaid for. They definitely shouldn't be skipping practices, skipping pre-season and otherwise being exempt from the rules the rest of the team has to follow due to a ridiculous guaranteed contract and buddy buddy status with the owner... |
