But just because there's a partnership doesn't mean the membership is going to treat the posters differently from any other poster. DC Pro Sports puts out a lot of good stuff, and I click on the links a lot myself. But if something gets put out that's viewed as a little suspect or a little shaky in terms of validity, or even something that's viewed as irrelevant or a "who cares" item, then the membership here is going to call them on it.

Remember when Earthquake started here and posted a ton of ridiculous threads? Well this is nothing near as bad as that, but I for one don't put much credence in this Shanahan source. And if other DC Pro Sports posts are viewed as irrelevant by the membership, I think they're within their rights to say so.
Agreed, sometimes I find good info there and other times I find something that looks like it was written by a drunk 12 year old angry at the world listening to Tool.

Uhhh, not really mine either. I am a hard rock dude, but not a big Tool guy. So drunk, possibly. Tool, likely not.

y r people getting their hopes up...this is classic Snyder, bring in a big name coach and the team ends up going 6-10...Norv Turner, Schottenheimer, Spurrier a ringin' a bell? Let's rein in the optimism...when snyder stops pulling this s***, then Ill have hope

In the pit of my stomach, I have the same exact feeling, but I am learning not go with my gut anymore (SEE: my ridiculous screen name). Besides, by going with the OPPOSITE of what my gut is suggesting, I can at least still claim that my gut is some sort of compass for the team's success . . .

. . . it's just off by about 180 degrees.

If Zorn is replaced before the end of the season, I will lose a lot of the goodwill towards the front office that was built over the last 48 hours. The team is playing well; let the guy finish out the season with some dignity.

To a certain extent I have to agree. I saw an earlier post saying we will win the division for sure next year. I think we have to take it slowly and not get too crazy. It is REALLY GREAT that Vinny bag of doughnuts is gone.
It takes time to build a solid team and deep team. It will not be in one year.

I agree with your statement and honestly I think it will take a least 2-3 years before we become a contender to win the NFC East. I like Shanny a lot I hope we land him and not the Cowgirls or Bills.

Re: Report: Shanahan to DC done deal

if the skins do get shanny does that help or hurt clintons chances of remaining on the team? under shanny clinton was awesome but he was also traded away by shanny.

Shanahan knows something that most fans (and even a few NFL franchises) don't understand.

Build a good O-line, design a good scheme that makes holes and pick any decent running back; they will do good. Don't pay them crazy money, don't be afraid to bench one even if he's running well and don't be afraid to trade one for a commodity that is ACTUALLY extremely rare and valuable (a shut down corner)

I think with a few exceptions (such as a Sanders, a Bo Jackson, a Sweetness, a Jim Brown) and Portis isn't one of those, that good running backs grow on trees...

Don't agree? look as Mendenhall and Parker before him (They are sitting Parker now so he knows why he wont get a huge contract; and why should he if a rookie can run as well?)... Look at Shanahan post Portis (there's enough grist for the mill just with Shanahan for the last few years)... Now look at Knowshon Moreano; Corell Buckhalter looks just as good in the same system... They often split carries.

In fact any number of teams that have had injuries or running back committees... Jamal Lewis replaced by Harrison and then Jennings for the Browns in the last game, all ran well... Glen Coffee ran just as well as Gore when he was injured in San Fran... Hell Portis then Betts then Cartwright, then Ganther ... I could go on.

Good Running backs grow on trees, and shouldn't be overpaid for. They definitely shouldn't be skipping practices, skipping pre-season and otherwise being exempt from the rules the rest of the team has to follow due to a ridiculous guaranteed contract and buddy buddy status with the owner...
