Anyway in regards to the actual topic, personally I don't know what to expect. I mean we all expected to beat the crap out of the Rams while the Colts probably expected to beat the crap out of us after laying the smackdown on the Giants. For the most part you never know whats going to happen. All we know is we have a team that can compete. However we don't know if thats going to result in above or below .500. Only thing we can do now really is wait and see.

I had a hunch we were going to score on the Colts because they have a soft D and I expected them to run it all over them. I was only half right because our OL is still shitting things up, but not as bad as last year.

However, although the score was close, anyone watching the game knows that Manning sure ass-kicked our defense.

Bottom line is these next two games are going to be real tough. We're simply not good enough to walk on the field and blow Chicago or Detroit out. I expect a split but would not be shocked if we lost both and would be shocked if we won both.

Let's face it, if we're going to make a push as a real contender, these next two are critical. 5-3 at the bye would set us up nice for the 2nd half of the season, and two conference wins will come in handy for the playoff picture.

We all know that the Redskins are known for having letdowns against "inferior" teams. And unlike the last regime, I dont see Shanny letting that happen twice in the same year. If Chicago or Detroit beats us, it's going to be be because they earned it, not because we didn't show up.

so i've been hearing for weeks how jim hasletts defense gives up a ton of yards, and rightfully so. some people still seem to be more concerned about yards than points/turnovers, and turnovers is something our new staff is finally preaching, and it seems to be preached on offense as well. i listened to jaworski on the tony K show this morning and he had some real nice things to say about our defense, especially how well we did confusing manning early on in that game. he said our scheme looked great and had our DBs been able to catch, manning would have been picked off 3 times, maybe a 4th. but i wanted to look at our turnover numbers, lets take a look since 04 when gibbs came back, all the way to now.

were currently 3rd in the NFC in turnover margin, 2nd in giveaways and 8th in takeaways. given how many plays rogers has been in position to make and botched, think of how many turnovers this defense could have produced by now, and how this scheme really does look like its working.

this is the first time we've been in the plus column on the turnover battle and i think its one of the biggest reasons we are playing tight good football games. it also goes to show how this coaching staff has guys mentally prepared to be in control of the football. aside from mcnabbs picks (which most have come on last effort passes or and endzone heave against the packers) moss is the only offensive player with a fumble.

if we can keep the turnover margin up, and get our DBs better at catching, this defense can be legit and really help this team moving forward.
