I'm sure you guys will just love this article:

Nike pushes for dramatic change in NFL uniforms - Sun Sentinel

Quote:
Nike continues to stoke anticipation with a promotional video, "Nike Football Epic Transformation" narrated by Michael Irvin, who says dramatically, "Friday nights and Saturday afternoons don't lie, change is good. And we're bringing all the change we've got to Sundays."

Sunday's Pro Bowl provided a teaser to the future with players wearing Nike's fashionably cool Vapor Jet gloves and colorful cleats.

The NFL's Nike jerseys will be unveiled in April; the draft may be the coming-out party

Very interesting. Everbody sworn to secrecy until after the Super Bowl; that seems to suggest that the NFL will indeed have a new look in 2012. Maybe one of these artist conceptions will turn out to be close to accurate when it comes to the Redskin uniform appearance for next season. Looking forward to seeing the new Nike version.

From what I understand, the drastic change with Nike is in the form of the material that the uniforms are made of, which will probably provide, naturally, a different look all in itself. As far as logo changes, the NFL teams control all of that. They ultimately decide color scheme and so forth. Certainly, it's not out of the question for Nike to propose certain changes at the discretion of the NFL owners.

and then there's this

League says Nike deal won’t lead to dramatic jersey design changes | ProFootballTalk

Quote:
“Logos are controlled by teams and the NFL,” league spokesman Brian McCarthy told PFT by email this morning. “That will not change. Teams have to apply to league to make changes to logos and colors.

“We anticipate new uniform technology (i.e., performance-driven, lighter materials). That’s what Nike’s [Charlie] Denson was referring to in his interview in 2010 regarding changes.”

Re: 2012 uniform changes thread

I like the history of the Redskins B&G, but i am not against the idea of a new uniform as it may represent a change for the better, and basically the team establishing a "new identity" with Shanahan and Allen.

Sadly, these days you see Burgandy & Gold and you think of one of the league's worst teams, over-paid past their prime players, etc...

We are doing things the right way and I don't think it would be terrible if we adopted a new uniform. My favorite skins uniform is the one from 2003, the dark burgandy jersey with the spear. Maybe tweak that a little bit. It really looked awesome i thought.
