@Giantone - you have always been a reasonable opponent. Beating a divisional team is always nice. Congrats.

Note - I was dead wrong when I said even the Skins couldn't pull off this L. Never sell our loserness short.

National anthem protests No. 1 reason viewers tuned out NFL games

https://www.si.com/tech-media/2017/0...y-sean-mcmanus

It’s a strong contributing factor. I also hear a radio interview with a top nfl merchandise owner who said they had data which indicated a decline in nfl licensed sales the exact week the kap protest went viral.

Is it part of the issue? Yeah of course it is. Is it the main factor? No, I'd say concussions, the league's ever-continuing deniability that football is directly linked to CTE, people cutting the cord, people thinking the game is being hurt by all the rules (what exactly is a catch?), etc. all play a factor. For a bit it seemed like the NFL wouldn't join MLB/NBA in suffering a ratings decline, but even they aren't immune.

Re: Around the NFL Week 17

How about Corey Coleman dropping that pass on 4th down to get the Browns that 16th loss, that's gotta be about as demoralizing as it gets. Hope he gets at it hard in the offseason and gets better next year, I'd really like to see Cleveland get some good contributors this draft and be decent next year.

That play was pretty much the Browns in a nutshell

Can’t believe we’ve now witnessed two 0-16 seasons in our lifetime

Shameless self-promotion. It is what it is.
