Still need to sign Kerrigan and Williams which won't be cheap. The interesting thing is RGIII, what happens with him depends on what he does. Will he get a last shot to prove himself?

Just curious what you would say about the Giants, who are currently sitting around 4M, but have a projected Rookie pool of 6M?

Or even the Saints at 3M with a rookie pool # of 7.5M

As long as you are over 0, there is always time to make the numbers work.

Working the cap has never been an issue here. Eric Shaffer is one of the best in the biz. Relax, nothing to see here.

I do not know anything about other teams salary cap numbers- or who they would have to cut, or restructure... good players have been cut because of their cap number

The Redskins as someone already said have 3 good options to cut, and create space

The forums cap sheets show that we have ~75M under contract next year (as of Dec., 2014, not including recent cuts and the new signings). Plenty of room to work in Williams, Kerrigan, Morris, K. Robinson, D. Young (if resigned). Plus, if they sign TW (2015 cap number = 13.7M) and RK (7.0M), it will likely significantly reduce their numbers this years and be cap friendly over the next few.

So what the hell is your point? Or are you just now agreeing that cap space is not the problem you originally seemed to assert it was?

Yes working the cap is an art we actually are good at. Paying the right players has been the problem.

Fixed it for you.

Obviously, we may be singing a different tune at the end of the season, but, right now, Scot McC is making what appear to be some very, very good free agency moves.

Sometimes it's best to leave the cap talk to the pros. ^

Re: Who should we go for in Free Agency?

^^ True enough. With that said, this site has amazing cap analysts in Schneed and Canuck. For Redskin specific info, the resources on this site are simply excellent.

When you get right down to it, given these on-site resources, it really is inexcusable to start arguing about salary cap issues without first, at least, taking a good hard look at the info Schneed and Canuck work so hard at providing us.
