Lol. Him saying he doesn't use a playbook just means he doesn't have that big 100 page binder like traditional coaches use for players to memorize. Lolol

He doesn't draw plays in the sand haha

Losing isn't enjoyable for anyone.

I agree. Listening to that press conference yesterday, he just seemed like he was done. Sad really, I was hoping he'd get a chance to turn it around. Evidently, he's just not the right person for the job. I'm glad he brought us to a point of respectability, but it's time for a divorce.

He gave us a division crown and that's good and also RG3 and ALF, I don't hate the guy it's just not a good fit anymore

Yeah, despite the assertions of some, I think he's done some good and the cupboard is more stocked at key positions (young long term starters at QB, RB, LT, TE, LB, CB) than it was when he got here in 2009.

His late career Denver history of defensive and special teams failure and his inability to build a cohesive, balanced roster as a GM may lead to the same result here.

End of the day, I'll thank him for solving the QB problem we perennially had, left some playmakers on both sides of the ball and wish him well. Stay bronze.

Re: Who's your pick's for next HC, DC and OC?

Did anyone else see the graphic using the Eagles roster about what $18 million would have gotten us...

8 or 10 players including:
Jeremy Maclin
DeSean Jackson
Nick Foles
Conor Barwin
2 starting O-linemen
etc.

I think we're really seeing the impact of that bogus cap penalty right now. All of the holes in our roster should be filled with a full cap this year, but I was shocked exactly how much talent $18 mill/year can buy.

Man, I still can't baffle myself on why they abandon the traditional offense every other week for the Read Option/Drop back.

We did one rollout off of PA and it resulted in a Touchdown.

Yeah I was baffled all game. If you would have asked me ahead of time how I would beat the Eagles I would have said throw down the middle of the field to open slots. Force the defense to back off the line and defend the pass then start running the ball.

Instead.... the team kept trying to force the run. They didn't even go to the heavy pass, hurry up offense until 4th quarter and it was working.

My in game adjustment I kept yelling at my tv or radio about.... I would have started the hurry up offense in the second quarter, I would have rolled RG3 out more since it was blatantly obvious the Eagles were running through the center of our OL.

Their killing me with the "pitch" runs. If I remember correctly it only worked like once and it did go for a TD. Otherwise. Nada. Maybe it works once in a game for + yardage.

Our coaching staff did nothing until after the half and nothing until the 4th quarter. Maybe by design I don't know but waaaaay toooo late.

Yeah, we were down 24-0 and ran a dive play.. My thought was, well I'm glad we set this up all game.. We owned time of possession and yardage so I'm not sure why we didn't up the tempo. Seems like a flaw of this staff not to recognize when a change is needed quickly enough. Lynch was praising the play calling when we were down 17-0 for 'not abandoning the gameplan' which is like praising the flight attendants for finishing beverage service on a plane plummeting through 18,000 feet.

There are certain assumptions I had about this staff that have proven false time and time again. It took me a while (almost as long as it does for Haslett to adjust) but I've mentally pulled the plug on this regime.

Well as sad as it is I was 100% the Shanahan pick. Although prior I think I said Gruden. I felt all the Denver problems were the DC which Shanahan picked someone else and maybe the owner not paying for players.

Looking back at the 1st game what worked? Up tempo, no huddle, passing down the middle. So what did this team do? came out and did exactly what they did in the first game. Huddled, slow tempo, ran, and passes no more then 10yrds. Fail, Fail, Fail, and Fail. The Eagles strongest part of their defense is their DL (which is why the run didn't work) and their LB's (which is why the short passes were broken up or not working). Every team all season found a whole in the middle of the Eagles defense down the middle. What did the Skins do? 5 yrd dump offs and sideline passes.

Bootlegs were a staple of Shanahan's WCO in Denver. Perhaps he needs to bench the play caller (Kyle), and get back to calling the plays himself.

Goat, Lovie Smith grew up just a couple of hours outside of Houston. He'd like to stay in Texas

Thank God. Pretty bad when a coach has to protect us from ourselves.
