Good riddance to 2012. One of the worst years in recent memory for video games.

I just started it, according to Steam I've played it for a grand total of 2 or 3 hours, and most of it was me just leaving it on and replaying the opening a couple of times trying to calibrate the graphics. It's alright though. Main reason I got it was because I loved the character of Vaas. It's been awhile since we've had a villain of his caliber in a game.

I thought this year was a decent year for gaming, at least it was personally. I started off with Skyrim, and that was ok for a while, at least when I had time to play. Then Madden came out and that occupied me for a little while, but tbh the bulk of the time that I play Madden is during the NFL offseason. This fall was excellent for me, first I bought Assassins Creed 3, which was good, then I bought Hitman, which I loved, and then I bought Far Cry 3, which I am really enjoying as well. I'm looking forward to next year too, although the only game I'm planning on buying next year is GTA V (awesome trailer D-Rave).

Foaming at the mouth for GTA V.

I thought it was supposed to come out at the end of this year but it looks like it won't be til March.

GTA V along with Bioshock Infinite should help get 2013 off to a good start

I was playing that for a while and got away from it for whatever reason.

I liked it, need to get back into it.

I think Walking Dead won the VGA award for GOTY. A testement to its greatness as well as the weak year that was 2012. I mean it's great to see an underdog win it but at the same time it has to be an indictment against the weak competition.

Mass Effect 3 should have easily been the top game in 2012 and they blew it with the crappy ending, that's now okay but no where near where it should be (there are other issues too but the ending is the one that sticks out the most). I can't help but laugh at how I kept telling myself before the games release "theres no way anyone could screw up a Mass Effect game."

Either way I was happy to see the Walking Dead get some recognition as it's a great game. Speaking of which I need to get back into it as I'm still stuck in Macon. lol.

Yeah same here. I like the game but I find I only really play it when I'm totally bored with everything else. It's just not a go to game for me.

All my friends rave about Mass Effect and over the Christmas holiday Steam had a deal on Mass Effect 2 for $5. I bought it and I'm HOOKED. I've put in almost 30 hours of game time on Steam so far. About 1/2 finished with the game and I am fully intending on replaying it.

Right now I'm more paragon than renegade with female Shepard. I'm going to replay it as male Shepard and be a total asshole (renegade).

My ex has Mass Effect 3 on Xbox and I've started playing that, but I want to buy it for the computer so I can play it at home on my own time.

I don't know what it is about Mass Effect. I'm not into sci-fi genre anything. TV, movies, games. I usually don't touch it. But this game has me hooked. Big time.

I heard the Mass Effect 3 ending was a blower. (Don't spoil it!) Which is kind of disappointing since the gameplay is stupidly good.

Mass Effect 2 is without a doubt, bar none, the greatest game I've ever played. I've done as many as 6 or 7 30+ hour play throughs and it could be as many as 10. I also enjoyed Mass Effect 1 but the combat was so clunky and dated that it's kind of a grind to get through, still love it enough to put it in that "greatest games of all time list."

**Don't worry no spoilers ahead**
As for Mass Effect 3, the best you can hope for is that you think the current batch of endings is okay. Thats my take on it but seeing as how Mass Effect 2 set the bar so high anything less then a B+ ending was an absolute failure.

The ending is basically the equivalent of rooting for the Caps all of these years where they have AWESOME regular seasons and then fall short in the postseason. In fact thats the perfect analogy, the initial endings were being knocked out in the first round by Monteal, the current batch is like the last postseason run where they lost in Game 7 to the Rags during the second round.

With that said make sure you download the Extended Cut so you don't have to see the horror that is the original endings. Like I said the fixes they made for the ending are okay but it's still not the type of ending that fans wanted from such a great trilogy.

My personal recommendation is turn the game off when you get to the final Earth mission and wait till around March where theres like a 1% chance that the latest DLC will do something to fix the endings, but thats just me.

Granted my problems with ME3 go beyond the ending but had they just made the endings right it would have been so easy to ignore the other problems.

On a side note though if you like Mass Effect you also might like Dragon Age Orgins. I personally hate games with a fantasy setting but this one has me hooked. I have been warned though not to play Dragon Age 2 so I'm taking that advice.

@Mooby Skyrim is 2011 not 12

Steam sale was ridiculous this past week. Kept buying games I didn't need. LA Noire, Farcry 2, Doom 3, GTA 4, GTA 4 DLC, Left4Dead, Left 4 Dead 2, The Witcher, The Witcher 2, Assasins Creed 2, None of which was more then $5 save ones that were bundled $7.99. Lol I'm not going to play half of those games.

I know but I spent a lot of time in early 2012 playing it. If you're just talking about games released in '12 then you're right lol.
